Xbox Price Drops to $200

I discovered this link on Xbox-Scene.com... They've got a roadmap and such. They're looking for Xbox programmers.. who are familiar with FATX right now.
As you can see here , there are already XBox games ripped from their Discs into a format readable by Xbox developer boxes and Xboxes with modchips. The modchips are almost out and information about them could be found here.
I am an Xbox owner and I don't think I will be trying to pirate using the XBox because I don't want what happened to the DC happen to the XBox. I'm tired of having good alternatives to the giants (Sony & Nintendo) and them being stomped by the fact that Americans (and others) are more interested in getting something free than supporting developers.
BTW one of the "side effects" of the modchips is that you can run unsigned code. That's how someone would Port *nix or bsd onto it.
It seems this project was completely innocent at first (just some guys in a dorm trying to play StarCraft together without dealing with the basically beta version of Battle.net), but 1337 warez leechers saw it as a way to play their pirated copies of SC, Diablo, Warcraft BNET, etc.. online.
I feel bad for these guys because they basically got used and now they're the ones in trouble. I'm sure they liked the 'fame' they got by creating and maintaining this software, and they kept pushing themselves to see how of programmers they really were.
Ohh well, goes to show all of us OS people that while our intentions may be innocent, the user's of our software may not be noble. In the end (because of the DMCA) we are the ones that are going to be held liable, not the end users.
I can think of a huge reason, pirating. DC used GDRoms but they still read regular CD's.. so people ripped the GDRoms (which were readable by DVD-Drives)... and burned them on CD's. This is the main reason the DC failed. Every single game that came out was released in the underground weeks before or on the release date. (Ofcourse NFL2k1 was an exception)... With the ability to play all the games from Japan months before the US equivalent comes out, why wouldn't you get the games off the 'net?
Back to the main topic... if you use these special disks, and remove the ability to read regular cd's, they have essentially prevented pirating of their games. Ofcourse the GBA uses cartriges(sp?) and the 'scene' figured out how to hack those real quick like...
I see the Xbox and PS2 much more prone to pirated games... hopefully MS will have some really difficult protection because the game will be over for them if pirating becomes as rampant as it was for the DC...
I don't thinka anyone has posted this, but from what I gather from the 3dfx press releases and interviews is that they will/have shut down their plant in Mexico. They will then sell the plant to someone and then contract someone to make the boards.
They said that they would in no way sell their chips to other card manufacturers (ie Creative..) They just won't be making the actual boards anymore.
I think we had something on TBA Central that talked about the plans and the press releases. Check it out.
FP?

I believe every geek in the world has mixed "Christina" with some "strokes" atleast once.
1^2=1; (-1)^2=1; 1^2=(-1)^2; 1=-1; 1=0
is wrong... here's why
You can't just go from 1^2=(-1)^2 to 1=-1;
you gotta go
1^2=(-1)^2 => sqrt(1^2) = sqrt((-1)^2)
+/- 1 = +/- (-1)
and the '-' from the (-1) drops out cuz +/- - = +/-.
so you get +/- 1 = +/- 1
