    Agreed. Vegetarian here as well. I don't eat animals for ethical and environmental reasons, not for health reasons.

    That's nice, it still cost me $349. How Google gets to the price point doesn't affect me. Why doesn't Shuttleworth pony up his own cash to get it to the market, he certainly has it.

    That's not a "real desktop", that is a top of the line gaming desktop. I've never seen a water-cooled computer in the wild and I've never spent north of $400 on a GPU.

    That said, I don't even use desktops anymore.

    A 16gb Nexus is $349, off-contract, on the play store. I would never spend $500+ on a phone.

    I'm a heavy reader. 5-10 novels/month and I still buy grocery bags full of books at every book sale I attend. When I travel, though, I take my classic Nook.

    I don't buy paperbacks.

    Poor backward and forwards compatibility? Really?

    I recently opened a few documents with Word 2011 on my Mac that were authored with whatever version of Word that was available on Windows 3.1/3.11. After a quick conversion, they loaded perfectly. I regularly send and receive documents with a friend who is still running Office 2003 on XP, again, no problems at all.
