We use PostgreSQL a lot. Since all the of the sites related to this story are in the process of being/.ed, can someone tell me what this replication thingy does?
I got a 15" TiBook in March, and at the time the Applecare bootable CD that contains TechTool Deluxe refused to boot the TiBook. 6 months later they have yet to update the CD to be able to boot my computer.
Excuse me? iPod owners have been waiting for Apple to release software that would let you create a playlist on the iPod itself since the first iPod came out over a year ago. The good news is that version 2.0 of the software has been released (and supports this feature). The bad news is that the only way to get this software is to buy a new iPod.
* switch to another client other than iTunes (e.g. Audion) for your Mac music experience
Quicktime has had support for AAC audio playback for several months. It would be trivial to include support for playing files in a format that Quicktime supports.
I don't know about you, but I find it kinda disturbing that the first post is not completely inane, despite the obligatory 'this is the first post' reference it contained.
There is also debug menu that can be enabled in Safari that lets you change the browser's User Agent, so in many cases you can easily spoof the site into letting you see that which their web developers or marketing droids have either expressly (or more likely through laziness) forbidden.
I read the NYT article mentioned here in July, and started Atkins a couple of days later.
I bought the book (quite easy to read but highly repetitive) and a carb counter to make sure I was keeping to the Atkins plan. (Being a meat-eater I've enjoyed the guilt-free steaks, and other juicy meat things.)
The induction phase of Atkins, wherein you're limited to 20 grams of carbs per day, is quite restrictive from a food variety perspective: limited quantities of selected vegetables (3 cups per day of salad greens), almost any kind of meat you like, some cheese, fish, and some seafood.
I've found food shopping rather boring as there isn't much food that you can buy that is acceptable, but on the other hand it doesn't take long.
I've lost about 16 pounds in the approximately 9 weeks since I started and I feel great: more energetic, better sleep, less grumpy. I've also been commuting to work and home by walking (1.5 hours/day).
I had my cholesterol checked a couple of weeks after starting the diet (I should have checked it before I started), and I'll get it checked again in a few months to see if there is a change.
I'm finding the severe lack of variety in my diet a bit difficult when dining out, going to parties and such, but I feel that the results are worth it.
You put it on another box, close all of the ports, and have a simple protocol running over something low-level which you trust like SCP or a PERL socket reader.
Better yet, use a couple of serial ports between the web server and the credit card storage server (in other words the CC server has no network connection).
Treat the CC server as a black box. CC numbers go in one serial port (with the TX pin snipped on one end of the cable for extra piece of mind). CC numbers come out the other serial port.
You'll need to code up some custom software, but basically this is a fairly secure system provided there is physcial security on the box itself.
Given how much secrecy Apple shrouds their product announcements in, the veracity of this story is either suspect or else Quanta Computer's tenure as the supplier of the flat panels is short-lived.
A few years ago someone from ATI leaked some details about an upcoming Apple product (like the day of or the day before the announcement) and ATI was immediately and severly slapped down by Apple.
Regarding the color depth and framerate benchmarks, there are going to be a ton of video professionals usng the Xserve as a workstation in addition to the folks using it as a more traditional server.
I'm glad that Apple provides the video card options that they do on this bos.
Quite correct. In fact, I found a solution in 10 minutes to this problem using this strategy of knight taking rook exposes the king to mate by the queen.
One problem though, this mate takes place on move 6.

Here's an open-sourced, VNC-based user-event recording and playback tool:

i had to compile and install it myself, and then...
You can grab a bash binary at:
http://www.osxgnu.org/software/Shells/bash/
The package installs nicely and includes directions on how to have it become your default shell.
If I had a sig you'd be done reading it
