This is such a pain. Fortunately, I see a solution to this once augmented reality becomes ubiquitous. Just overlay some other image over them, ads, or anything else you don't want to see.

++Pathfinder!! have to put another bump in here for Pathfinder, which is an excellent replacement for OSX Finder. I haven't used Microsofts File Explorer in awhile, but as of about 5 years ago I didn't have a high opinion of it until I switched over to mac and discovered how truly terrible Finder was. Imho Apple makes great hardware and a great os (OSX), but terrible software. Fortunately there is a wide array of excellent third party software out there.

I have been developing on Swift for about 6 months now for a project. Today I discovered that in Swift 3, increment(++) and decrement(--) operators are being removed (as well as some other things). Our project isn't that big, so it won't take long to fix the 400 or so warnings that this has introduced, but it's probably causing real pain to anyone maintaining a larger code base. I like Swift, and am glad to hear its popularity is increasing so quickly, but I would like to see it stabilize.

While Google has its hands in alot of pies, that doesn't remotely count as diversified from an investment standpoint. Google is practically a tech sector pure play.

once you start paying more than half of what you earn in income taxes, you start to question why you're doing the job and whether it's still worth it.

Boy its tough being a billionaire and getting almost half your income taken. Almost makes one want to stop being a billionaire. Probably why we have such problems with an evaporating ultra wealthy class.
