  1. ToS: can't host any type of server on FiOS User Finds Limit of 'Unlimited' Data Plan: 77 TB/Month · · Score: 3, Informative
    Section 4.3 Restrictions on Use.

The Service is a consumer grade service and is not designed for or intended to be used for any commercial purpose. You may not resell, re-provision or rent the Service, (either for a fee or without charge) or allow third parties to use the Service via wired, wireless or other means. For example, you may not provide Internet access to third parties through a wired or wireless connection or use the Service to facilitate public Internet access (such as through a Wi-Fi hotspot), use it for high volume purposes, or engage in similar activities that constitute such use (commercial or non-commercial). If you subscribe to a Broadband Service, you may connect multiple computers/devices within a single home to your modem and/or router to access the Service, but only through a single Verizon-issued IP address. You also may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time for the Service, or use the Service to host any type of server. Violation of this section may result in bandwidth restrictions on your Service or suspension or termination of your Service.

Well here's how they can artificially cap your unlimited plan. 'may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time' or 'use the Service to host any type of server'.

Plus the AUP allows them to nab you from anything from off-topic posts (Attactment A.2.e) to hitting IP's in embargo'd countries (cuba, sudan, etc) Attactment A.2.l. And unless this somehow excludes personal server, my guess is tons of users are violating some part of the ToS.

Seems like this provides more cover for the old guys who probably have wives, kids and senior-level positions. Most are probably smart enough to not get caught. I mean yea, these kids get caught because they feel like they have to act, not only speak out.

  4. Re:Multimonitor gaming is only as good as the supp on A Fresh Look At Multi-Screen PC Gaming · · Score: 1

Multi monitor LoL isn't possible because multi-monitor LoL would be cheating. MOBA games must limit the total viewable zone for all players to exactly the same size, and for that reason, they also have a very limited maximum zoom-out.

Because getting a bigger tactical overview would give player an immense advantage in LoL. So if you ever did manage to get LoL to play on multiple monitors with wider view, you'd be banned in a very short order for obvious cheating.

Yeah, this is why I'm thinking it's best to go for a 'one big, two small' setup, to best accommodate games like LoL.

  5. Multimonitor gaming is only as good as the support on A Fresh Look At Multi-Screen PC Gaming · · Score: 1

If Guild Wars 2 really delivers what the hype has been about recently, I may consider a 3x setup. If I can't customize my UI, have addons and such then I'll stay on one monitor. Look at League of Legends, no addon ability or UI modifications is the only reason (user experience, not game engine) multi-monitor LoL isn't possible. I would rather a 27" with 20" on either side turned vertical. Three 24" widescreens are too much on the eyes in either direction.

  6. 85% drugs, 15% everything else on Wiretap Requests From Federal and State Authorities Fell 14% In 2011 · · Score: 3, Interesting

The linked article states: "3,547 persons had been arrested and 465 persons convicted". Is there anyway to figure out what these people were arrested/convicted for? I think Americans would be a hair more understanding if the types of crimes where all related to national security, but it states 85% drug related, I'm guessing bigwigs? so 15% everything else, including national security. It's such a gross break of privacy for a sector of crimes that shouldn't be at the top of America's issues.
