And as it comes from a *living* whale now it should be classed as a *kosher* product by most countries that ban whaling the only problem being that japan and norway still kill many whales for so called sientific research so untill that is stopped completely you have to be really careful of your sources, much the same way that 'dolphin safe' tuna has to be 'dolphin safe'. I have a company in Italy willing to export raw beach gotten ambergris @ about 68 Euros an ounce so I'm lucky, as it is one of the only perfume oils that, once processed will work on my skin type.

but seriously
a bit of harmless bacteria is good for you, it strengthens your immune system. that is why auto immune disorders are on the rise, because as kids we have no harmless bacteria to fight against because our moms use anti bacterial wipes and soap, and anti bacterial cleansers for everything from dish detergent to fabric softener. I have a friend who's mom is so anti bacterial this and that, that when he hit a bug when out bike riding the bacteria on his skin, the stuff that is supposed to be *Harmless*, but had been killed off and replaced by stronger more powerful *EVIL* bacteria by the antibacterial soap his mom insisted on using for the last 20 years, that nearly killed him.
He had to be admitted to the hospital for the big gun IV antibiotics to kill the damn bug that got beneath his outer defences because his immune system didn't know how to deal with it.
The new generation of superbugs that don't respond to normal antibiotics, new generation of autoimmune disorders and a new generation of kids growing up in a shiney new sterile world with diseases (tuberculosis for example) that we used to be able to treat coming back to haunt us with triple immunity to antibiotics that used to kill them dead because we put antibiotics in the feed of animals *just in case* that leach out into our water supply. whee. shiney new world order. -m
first think i'd like to ask is, what systems are running on your home network and what kind of array you would like to run on it. I have tools that can bring some pretty far gone drives come back to near pristine when I thought they were dead depending on what they were formatted as. Are we talking about *nix Drives or Win* drives? or a mix of both running over a mixed network. and regarding the network is it a one to many server/worstation network or an everything connects to the router dhcp network etc.
I have a weird codependant relationship with Dead Tech, so I like to tweak with it on occasion and get it to do things it shouldn't be able to do. so I play around with Older machines and operating systems squeezing every last bit of use out of them. Doing this makes me lose the occasional bit of data yes, but it also allows me to learn a lot about not letting go of it that easily. Raid arrays are fun but add an extra drive into the mix so now you have 2 drives to worry about. striping them means that if one goes down you lose your data. backup raids are good but.... then you lose that lovely extra drive!!! ah the humanity. talk to me rob. what are we talking about here.. NT, Win* 8nix or what.. maybe i can give you some answers.

Much like LPs, I believe in 35m. I grew up on it (yes, there i am aging myself again) Digital wont replace it. Digital may be the in thing but really with professional photography 35m still has a bit of a following. I personally own a Nikon that has had its share of bumps and bruises, not a single peice of plastic on it, that has a nice 50m lens on it. Digital doesn't even come CLOSE to the effects of a good 35m SLR in the hands of a capable photographer for some perposes.
Just like the clicks and pops that add to the wholeness of listening to a good pressing of an old Billy Holiday album. the 35m format has its uses. I don't think that the current every day user will find them as useful, but there will still be the small sub group of users who will still demand the format, and where there is a demand, there will remain a production.
You missed: does this mean all those tree hugging hippies were right?!?
but seriously, if it does pan out, rapidly disappearing big old growth forest regions like Siberia, BC, upper Canada and south America and Africa would have yet another power authority after them to plug in and another hassle to the eco environment that is already precariously endangered if it does. I don't think big dollar old (billion year under ground type) forest decimation oil companies will treat a new resource with any more respect than they do the one they are already draining.
Countries having their own rights with thier own country code???
excuse my previous lack of knowledge in my previous post, \\ICANN is doing EXACTLY what they are supposed to do. America has no right to dictate to other countries on how to run, regulate or govern their own censorship bodies. If the ISP is within the ccTLDs Country it is governed by that countries internet laws. end of story.
If an american posted to a ccTLD say in... CANADA with Hate literature about say anything we have laws about on a canadian ISP where we have laws against that sort of stuff no matter how much bawling about freedom of speech you did, we wouldnt be able to do anything but take your sorry site down, do to canadian CRTC cencorship laws. sorry. thats the law.
for example Canada Skinhead A posts BLAHBLAHHATEGRRRBLAH to the msg board in to HATEHATEHATE.tv the CRTC here in Canada could still bust skinhead A here for posting hate literature throught a Canadian ISP and his Canadian ISP would HAVE to comply with the RCMP and provide logs etc that prove or disprove his involvement in his postings. Regardless of the law in the country of origin of HATEHATEHATE.tv. so ICANN has no control over that. don't blame them. change the law if you dont like it. but change it in yer own country. or instead of bitching here where it does little to nothing write a letter to Amnesty International where it does do something. look them up http://www.amnesty.org/
it *used* to be, ICANN was there for the little guy. I used to run the domain disputes department at an ICANN accredited registrar company based out of San Fransisco. We went HEAD to HEAD all the way up to the supreme court with a Very BIG *name removed to protect my sorry ass from being sued* company over a domain name bought by a little guy that was generic enough for him to fight for and we won because ICANN was on our side. unless ICANN upper echelons have changed drastically either someone has their wires crossed, some misinformation is being spread or ICANN is being leaned on HEAVILY by the government. Has it *really* gotten that bad down there?
