I see nowhere a claim that this article is meant to be a "be all and end all" statement on Software Testing.
The posting and the article it links to are just what they claim to be.
Software Testing is a whole different discipline, in its entirety, from software development. This does not negate the fact that unit and integration testing should first be performed by the developer, since they know their expected results. This article is "a good start" for information on Unit Testing Frameworks for Python.
As a ST/QA person, I tend to try to absorb as much information on the discipline as I can ane learn from it. I try to not treat every scrap of info as "missing the mark" when it doesn't conform to my views on what Software Testing is or isn't.
You can make a sound recorder from parts you buy at radio shack. It's impossible to deny the public this without making damn near every electronic component illegal.
Good point. Can you imagine a day when "consumer" and "electronics" aren't able to be used in the same sentence?
Perhaps because they could and Compaq made a better laptop? I have one of each and the HP went from laptop to doorstop in less than 3 months while the Compaq still merrily chugs along. This despite the Compaq being 2 years older.
First, I was going to say:
"I just find it disturbing that lawyers will be still around in 25 years". Now I find it doubly disturbing that lawyers and Micorsoft will both be around in 25 years.
Do you mean this one?
I don't see any reason they wouldn't, given their past behaviour.
Not to worry. It's toast now.
The court is the arbiter in this case not the plaintif as in the MS case.
There is a significant difference that even the most basic "IANAL" Slashdotter would understand.
Your original post makes less sense in light of inflammatory your response.
Currently SCO is in court, and from all appearances they are going to get reamed by the government on this one.
The government is not the ones who have SCO in court. In the Microsoft reference it was the DOJ who took them to court.
Your point make no sense.
Better than the answer to Windows problems... "Reboot!"
...because this stuff isn't posted on your news site?
What about this and
this?
They've both been around for some time now.
Is it just that they haven't been written about on ZDNet?

Thank you, I'll be here all week.
Just like simplistic statements followed by "ha ha ha" and copying a line from Shrek doesn't make you a comedian?
This, when downloading is legal in Canada (for now).
Kinda makes you wonder how many congress critter's, MP's, and diplomats' children/relatives have been sued, doesn't it?
"...the decline of sails..."
The decline of sails would mean a decline in piracy.
They would have reduced activity, right?
Maybe everyone figured out that it all sounds the same because it all is the same. Covered here.
...the day the founding fathers were sold out and betrayed in the worst manner by the greediest of people.
Sorry, but didn't this already happen?
Nevermind the sig, I'm serious.

Once more with the "preview" button.
"tips in the homepage would be a nice start,"
Please see this, it shows you how to "Google" more effectively.

I don't think MS can compete with this...
Does the phrase "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish", ring any bells?
we just had an article proclaim that TiVo's going to die yesterday..
Did they?
Why did HP buy Compaq?
Perhaps because they could and Compaq made a better laptop?

I don't wear a wrist-watch because;
Time is an illusion.
Lunchtime, doubly so.
Stick your tongue out and say 'na-na-na-na-na-na' when you do.
..and lick the flagpole in sub-zero temp while you're at it.
nobel intent?
That must have been a blast!
How noble of you.
