Didn't they find a couple bacteria on the one of the first satellites (i think it was the eagle something) and they though it was alien?
then they checked it out and found out one of the engineers had sneezed on the glass before getting it ready. The interesting part however is that the bacteria started reproducing as soon as it was back. it actually survived.
which religion?
there's nothing in Islam that rules of extratrestrial lifeforms. in fact, if you read the holy qoran you will see that it talks about 7 different worlds, earth being one of them.
I mean, didn't they try this a couple years ago to suck some more money out of the US government?
...
hell, its 2001, they ought to have found something by now...
They just made the hardest to play quake ever. considering there is no keyboard etc.
On another note, cant this also be easily ported to Linux since Quake was GPL'd?
... run gnome. they should have stuck to KDE i'm telling you. so how long does it take nautilus to embed mozilla now? only 10 seconds with 600 terabytes of ram?
Reagarding the people saying that they still stole it because DivX was invented by someone else, look at the MP3s that you listen on your linux boxes. couldn't one say that XMMS' Mp3s are also stolen standard?
A DivX player for UNIX would be _amazing_ though. considering what Microsoft's player can do with a 20 meg file (matrix promo movie, 10 minutes, VERY hi-res), theres not stopping what we can do... with a little help from SDL.
#1. Its tied to expensive hardware.(for now)
#2. Its property of Apple Inc.
#3. Its GUI is *VERY* closed. fairly unthemeable. geeks dont like that.
#4. Its an Apple (tm).
I mean, Solaris x86 can run all those things too but we dont see many people switching to Solaris from FreeBSD... Hell, Sun is funding the port of FreeBSD to UltraSparc.
And Windows2000... it can even run GNOME! why are we not shaking in our boots? stop worrying (or start worrying) because Free operating systems are here to stay.
"If you are seeing this instead of the content you expected, please contact the administrator of the site involved. If you send mail about this to the authors of the Apache software or LinuxOne Inc., who almost certainly have nothing to do with this site, your message will be ignored."
and i found this: "...LinuxOne launched its first product, the LinuxOne OS, which easily facilitates the migration of many Linux application programs from Microsoft Windows to Linux systems..."
is it just me or does this make _no_ sense.
something smells fishy here.
I mean, I have a calcomp DrawingSlate II, i'm looking at right now thats been gathering dust for 4 reasons:
1. It was really cool to use.. for the first 5 minutes
2. It doesn't work under linux.
3. The pen's batteries cost too much for normal use.
4. Its awkward to use, and I could do better with my sweet (logitech) USB mouse.
Another point to consider is that these pads are for PhotoShop addicts that need pressure sensetive stuff. For normal use they are awkard, even more so than those crappy joystick things the thinkpads used to ship with 4 years ago instead of a mouse.
Now, adding it to a laptop is completely insane because it adds weight.
Another note to consider is that these things have terrible bitrate (my calcomp only connects to a serial port).
The only reason IBM's not going with OCR is either because they suck at doing it, or because they dont want to make their $3000 lappytops look like 3 year old Palms.
Cars can't do everything.
This is prolly a good book and all but get real people, computers are just tools and the audience this book was intended for knows this. The people that think computers alone are going to find a cure for cancer wont be reading this because they are probably mac users and their idea of programming is html.

What you are saying is true ... if you are trying to evolve a different race of earth lifeforms.
infact, life doesn't even have to be cellular.

Right a piece of software and license it under the GPL, then what?
Legally the company can't do shit about it can they?

am i in legal danger?

dont you know? the TiBooks run Linux and NetBSD and so do the x86's. Some people said they even got XFree86 working.
it has a C compiler. is it just be or does a GCC port sound like an INSANELY stupid waste of funds.

it was by my ignorant brother
*wipes off sweat
Who the hell would even be interested in this shit?

I though all they had to do was plug the thing in the back of their heads and shake like they just saw another siezure-inducing episode of pokemon.

As far as I know, the TiBook uses HDTV standards. the monitor is 1.5inch wider than a normal monitor. I can't remember the exact ratio but ...
How does X cope with this?
