Well since its stored in RAM, and since i love reinstalling my OS regullarly, why not the rest of my data, o wait, I cant as its been lost due to erm, lack of persistance?
Come on, in RAM? this has gotta be a joke, we need a real storage system, one that STORES the data:)
Im from Northern Ireland and we probably have the highest count of CCTV (and with the rest of the UK) cameras in the world.
That is ok, we dont have a police state (yet)
But its in the mindset, Im in sweden at present and there the mindset is of a police state (control and profiling)
In states like Sweden, if you dont fit the profile, you are an outcast, period. No tolerance, no nothing. This is a bad way to go, no freedoms, no tolerance, no privacy.
Hi, (this isnt a troll, just my observations and experiences from a controlled state)
When people are expected to conform to a certain profile there will be internal tensions.
Example, nordic countries (sweden in particular)
In the above example, if you do not conform, you are an outcast. These are serious inherant dangers of controlled states in whatever form it takes.
This is Fact, denied or not, its a fact. Thats the reality of the situation.
One thing I do find working with LCDs for long periods of time is its not as tiring on my eyes as CRTs. Many factors, refresh rates and the static generated from the CRTs drying my eyes up.
You CAN change resolutions, its just that they (like most monitors) have a MAXIMUM resolution, on laptops for example, they start to make the desktop larger than the physical MAXIMUM resolution.
One area that Linux lags in is Product Activation.
Why dont people use Solaris 9 ? Runs Linux binaries, free, and got a BIG company behind it. I know i will run Solaris 9.
prices are better than HDs? come on, .5 gig DIMM pc133 costs alot compared to a 100 gig IDE drive. Not to mention adding capacitors, psu's, and bibles.

I would think this is more of a WW1 on Terrorism.
All I am hearing is UK forces involved in this that and the other on the news reports. Well, seems we are in the front line more than the US.

Will Compaq and the rest of the manufactures make enough this time to forfill market demand?
Isnt it mostly an OS upgrade with VPN and terminal services added etc (useful for the enterprise user)
Since people talk so much about making copies (for backup purposes) legally.
Question I have is..
"What happens when the ORIGINAL is duff'd"? Can we retain the backup and use that LEGALLY?
Hmmm... How are we covered then?
heh or dont install the OS :D
Never install a peice of software as Administrator, use poweruser or something less.
If it doesnt install as that user, dont install it. Its obvious that that app was not designed with security in mind.

The ultimate monitor
One thing I do find working with LCDs for long periods of time is its not as tiring on my eyes as CRTs. Many factors, refresh rates and the static generated from the CRTs drying my eyes up.
Why put a monitor ON the wall, why not instead make the wall THE montior ala Total Recall :D
