    It's a joke man. Part of my engineering learning covered water/wastewater treatment. I didnt focus on it, but i took the required courses. It's just fun to creep people out though cause most people don't stop to think about it.

    except he's a cancer survivor, doing campaigns for cancer research and funding. that makes him the good guy, and the USADA the bad guy. plus i keep hearing the USADA doesnt even have the authority to actually take his medals away from him.

    the biggest problem there is you have to forge the steel alloys from your iron in space. and so far there isnt a process for that. the earthbound process relies heavily on gravity. this is a thought experiment i've discussed with other people before. its a pretty interesting problem.

    Imagine this: the Mississippi River drains the watersheds of ~80% of the country. Each of those cities and towns upstream gets their water from, and returns their treated waste water to, that water system.

    Now imagine you live in New Orleans or some such, near the mouth of the river. And your water supply also is fed off the river....you're drinking the treated waste water of everyone of those people further upstream, roughly 50% (guesstimate) of the nations population.

    Fun huh?

    Because some of us are used to using AMD's as the best return on the dollar of investment. After awhile you just get used to it. And you then also gotta switch out your motherboard, when you change brands. Kinda wish CPUs could be built on some standard interface so switching brands just means switching the CPU, not the motherbaord and also maybe video card depending on the setup you use. a year ago finding an nvidia sli setup on AMD was difficult when i wanted to reuse my video cards rather than replace them too.

    Don't be a nitpicking nelly. "He can't see the forest for the trees", to say it another way. You can get all nitty gritty with the details, but the content is what I'm more concerned with. Besides, I majored in engineering, not grammar. Moment, bending, internal stresses, elasticity, those are my bag. Plus I'm typing at work and I don't know about you, but I don't really pull up Plussman's English Manual for /. posts. This is the "rote" part I was complaining about, the inability to think and look at what's important rather that nitpick details that are tangential to the issue at hand.

    Associating Trump with the republican leadership is like assocaited mickey mouse with the Democratic leadership. If you want to cherry pick buffoons saying stupid crap we could go all day using both sides of the fence. He is no more is representive of the GOP as a whole than Marion Barry, Alan Grayson or Sean Penn are of teh Democratic party as shown by these quotes:

    And that's why they need educated. And the education system itself is to blame for this. Too much rote learning, and not enough learning how to learn and learning how to think. It's not terribly difficult to sit down and think for a second and realize that if you dont get vaccinated, you're dependent on everyone else still getting vaccinated in order to not get sick. And even then, that still leaves "outside the herd" sources of infection, as well as diseases that arent transmittable (and have no herd immunity effect), such at Tetenas (spelling, I know).

    But that requires thinking and reasoning skills, and too many people seem to only have the ability to yell at the tv "Stupid conservatives/liberals".

    nothing in the idea starves anything of their funding. every program still gets their minimum slice of the pie.

    a 5% reduction in taxes is ~200$ for me. 20$ a month for a year is 240$. While I picked those numbers as starting place. you dont get to "not contribute", as 95% of your taxes still go to the fed as a whole to be dispersed as per usual. ijust trade the last 5% to the general fund for a slightly larger chunk going to a specific fund.

    Thats the same short term thinking that eventually ruins companies. And its retarded. And wrong.

    People like moddable games. Moddable games tend to sell more units. Have a longer lifespan. Create more goodwill, towards the brand and the company.

    These things pay off hugely down the road, causing boosted sales to your next several projects.

    I cite Blizzard, Cavedog (while it lasted), iD, 3D Realms, and others all known for games that came moddable.
