I don't think the orgional poster was refering to all chistians, only those who fit his defintion. of witch, there are very many:( "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
I would think that they probably *are* made of hydrocarbons, since most biological stuff on earth already is. "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
This is kind of interesting, not for the fact that it works, but *how* it was discovered. It seems like these people just took some random DNA known to produce plastics and stuck it in some plants.
One of the most interesting things about 'current' (I hesitate to say modern) Genetic engineering is the almost haphazard way in witch it is done. Were pretty lucky that Genetic structure is pretty forgiving, and we aren't just completely breaking the genetic code for these plants
If this kind of thing can be done with our current level of genetic-e knowledge, imagine what we will be able to do when we understand it all Also, I think the real benefit from work like this isn't producing plastics, but producing fuels Currently plastic waist can be broken down into the smaller polymers octane and pentane and be used for gasoline. If the same process could be used for this stuff, we could have a limitless supply of "fossil" fuels! "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
While that may be true in the 'real world' in geek world there's not many woman around to uh, mount my floppy. "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Its FM interferance, probably due to my amazingly crapy Sound card, Its not so bad in general, infact I can only hear it if I turn the volume all the way up. "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Actualy I don't really play games that much, as evidenced by my pentium 200. Unreal levels didn't take that long to load for me, and that was with a 4meg/second IDE hard drive "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"

I must admit that Christianity in the US is coming out of a dark age right now. The previous generation seemed to have lost all touch with God and the light nearly died. But that doesn't invalidate it. Read the Bible (start with the Gospel according to John if I may suggest) and judge for yourself.
I'm sorry, "coming out of"? If anything there, at least the majority of people is entering a 'dark age' 40% of Americans don't believe in the theory of evolution 40, Now, that's no insignificant number by any means. Now of course I don't have any information about 'fundamentalism' in the past in America, but it seems to me that fundamentalist Christians are becoming more powerful than ever.
I used to be a republican (well, a republican supporter, I wasn't old enough to vote), but when they came to power in 1994, it became apparent that they, to a large part were controlled by the Christian coalition. Again, I'm only 19 years old, and I don't really feel like looking into the 'historic' 1950s - 1980s, but I certainly wouldn't say that fundamentalist Christianity is in any way waning "Subtle mind control? While 'geek' celebs might be more accessable, I doubt they would have many more frends then a regular person. I don't think that Linus Torvlads has thousands of frends (at least not personaly), I don't see why the group of geeks who know him would be much larger then the group of people who know someone like Gorge C Scott "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
If your monitor is to bright, TURN IT DOWN, it's not that hard.
The light comming of a peice of paper is generatednot reflected. When a photon hits an atom of a dye or somthing else that isn't a mirror, it excites the atom, witch will then relice an photon of its own. so the light is generated, just like a monitor.
It shouldn't be to hard to just set your monitor to emit the same amount of light that a peice of paper would. "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Actualy, if you're using florecent lights, you're refresh is locked at 60, or 56 in england. Incadecants are a little better, but monitors may have 'higher' refreshes then paper in some places "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
I usualy don't have web browsers maximized, infact I rarely have anything maximized, and I'm only running at 1024x768. at 1600x1200 I can usualy keep two or three web browsers open and read them at the same time. "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
I have my settings maxed out all the time, infact I can't *stand it* when there not. But then monitors have never really botherd me, even my horrible interlaced 47hz acerview 33d... (now *that* was a shitty monitor) "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Actualy, paper/inks and everything else that isn't a mirror *is* producing light on its own... sort of. (photons are comming out of the atoms when they are exsited by other photons)
anyway, if you're monitor is to bright why don't you just turn it down. both the brightness and the contrast. Most of the monitors I've ever seen can go all the way to black. You could probably set the brightness/contrast to the level of light that would be reflected, and there for easyer on your eyes "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Why don't we just tap directly into our optic nervs... While were at it, why not tap our aural(right word?) nervs as well, that way we could listen to loud music without damaging our ear drums... "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Games don't really rely on the IO at all, just the CPU and video card. so for hard core gamers, this really makes sense. It wouldn't do you much good on a server. I'm still using a p200mmx, and it works fine for what I do, but hard core gamers are going to want this "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"
Actualy I can hear my computers *software* doing stuff as interferance on my soundcard. Doing things like moving windows around produces a recgonisable pattern. It's quite strange. For a while I had a program called CPUcool that would turn the CPU off via a hlt instruction when it was idling. This actualy produced a very strong noise, It kept the CPU cool though "Subtle mind control? Why do all these HTML buttons say 'Submit' ?"

Look at your list of 'nerds' and you're 'exseptions' All the ones on you're list are 'normal' income people. and the ones who arn't are billionares.
I seriously doubt that Galileo would be a billionare, as he would probably go into the nerd catigory.
