    Did you pull all of those numbers out of your ass, or just the one for the US military? We spend WAY more than 25 billion (presumably that is in USD and an annual basis) on the military. Further upthread, someone linked to wikipedia's page on the topic which indicates that spending in FY2010 was just shy of $1 trillion US. Given how badly you've muffed that number, why shouldn't I doubt the others?

    More slashdot illiteracy. Your citations do not say what you claim they say. They indicate the Bush was ~115-120 whereas Gore was ~133. Bush Jr., while far from "85" is significantly lower than you claim. And lower than Gore.

    While I agree that Apple is very much sitting on its hands here, there is no way to ignore iDevices. It's almost like an "Occupy IT" movement. And the users are relishing our squirming and cursing. And while I'm an sysadmin myself, I'd almost say we deserve it to be on the receiving end this time.

    Look at the douchebaggery displayed by your peers in this thread. It goes without saying that many of them deserve to catch some shit. So many people living up to the BOFH and Nick Burns stereotypes.

    try replacing your hard drive without 3rd party software or hardware,

    Oh fuck me, I better call my mom and tell her that the hard drive in the old Mac Mini I gave her is going to die. I must have installed it wrong five years ago because I didn't use any 3rd party software or hardware. And I'm sure my MB Pro will explode any second now because of that hard drive I replaced two years ago with no 3rd party software or hardware. (Unless you count the external drive enclosure. Same one I used to upgrade my gf's Windows laptop HD).
