It's funny how people always point out there were smartphones before the iPhone which were just fine for web browsing - but they had a lower resolution screen than the Apple Watch, which you can't use for browsing. Errhmmmh.
Obviously because screen resolution isn't the beginning and the end for usability.
You are right - that's why the first "big" Android phones actually had a lower resolution and still were so much better to use. Or something.
Really, there's no reason to single this out as Linux. It could be done to any OS. I would imagine the first ones we see in the wild will target Windows.
Exactly - any Linux rootkit could easily be done on any OS, while rootkits for other OSs can't be done for Linux.
* I was really surprised at how battery life wasn't a problem at all. The first week I was reaching the end of day with 50% charge left. Definitely requires overnight charging, but other than that no battery problems. I even took the battery indicator off the homescreen cuz it wasnt an issue.
I should clarify, what I mean is that you can't wear it overnight and, in terms of fitness tracking, sleep is a very important aspect. Also I found friday night when I went out after work it was dead by the time I got home, which was about 19 or 20 hours after I got up.
Of course you can, you just charge it during your drive to/from work - or is that also part of your fitness regime? Heck, charge it while at work, have it sit right in front of you (and put it on when you leave your desk, of course).
It's funny because they acknowledge that a really cool and fundamental feature
If you see a browser on a watch, they have failed.
I see a browser on the Apple Watch.
Not by Apple, so somebody else failed.
But that aside: It's funny how people always point out there were smartphones before the iPhone which were just fine for web browsing - but they had a lower resolution screen than the Apple Watch, which you can't use for browsing. Errhmmmh.
Sure, until insurance companies and governments start demanding access to it.
You don't need to be much of a conspiracy nut to realize the potential for privacy invasion and abuse of this data is absolutely staggering.
Gee, and yet you complain about a voluntary option instead of all the crap Googles knows about you just by scanning through the shit of people who know you. I present you: the one-eye-blind Paranoid!
400 parts per million means CO2 is 0.04 % of the atmosphere. Meanwhile, water vapor makes up between 3 and 4%. CO2 remains a trace gas.
Yeah. And the regulations for contaminations in drinking water are ridiculous too, they pretend that concentrations far beyond 1 parts per billion of some agents could be dangerous to humans. Those fools! Nothing below 1% can have even a slight effect.
You will get 'a response' but that response will depend on the religion of the offendee.
Islam = bombings, shootings, stabbings
all other religions = slogans, placards, letters to the editor.
Islam is violent. Wake up to the truth!
Christianity: death threats, violent destruction of works of art, molotov attacks against crowded movie theaters.
"Organi[z]e a "draw Jesus sodomizing Mary" contest in Texas and you'll get crazy Christian jihadists doing the same thing." \n\n
This has already been proven untrue. Remember when they put Jesus in a jar of piss and displayed it around the nation, calling it art? People were outraged, but no Christian harmed anyone because of it.
Sure, only a couple of death threats (hrmm, maybe Christians are at heart just as violent, but cowards). Oh, and pretty much every print was violently attacked by Christians.
And by displayed around the nation, you mean in New York and a few places in the civilized part of the US. Now you display it in Texas if you believe you are on no danger.
Unfortunately, negative interpretations of the work have only become more violent over the last two decades, and prints of “Piss Christ” have been attacked in Australia and France. In 1997, a Serrano retrospective at Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria was canceled when visitor John Allen Haywood removed the photograph from the wall and kicked it, and the following day two teens attacked with a hammer — all after the local Catholic Archbishop had failed to obtain a court injunction blocking the piece from being exhibited at all.
Appearing in court — where he was eventually given a suspended, one-month jail sentence — Haywood was asked what he would say to Serrano if he ever met him, and responded: “I wouldn’t like to say nothing to him. I’d just like to punch him on the nose.”
In 2011, “Piss Christ” once again was on the losing end of a hammer head during an exhibition at the Collection Lambert, the art foundation of Serrano’s longtime Paris dealer Yvon Lambert in Avignon. A day after having to close early when 800 protestors turned up to voice their disapproval of Serrano’s work, and following a stream of death threats against the museum’s employees — “Several people have called saying, ‘If you open, you’re dead,'” a staffer told Reuters — three vandals smashed the photograph and another nearby Serrano work, “The Church.” Though the pieces were damaged beyond repair, the Collection Lambert left them on view through the end of the exhibition “I Believe in Miracles,” which marked the museum’s tenth anniversary, “so the public can appreciate for themselves the violence of the acts,” it said.
On her IMDB page, she says they wanted to do more with her character, but then realized they had a black girl and two blonds. "One of the blondes have to go. The other one was engaged to the boss, so guess who went?"
To be fair to Roddenberry, Majel was already demoted from first officer (brunette) to nurse, to keep Spock on the show.
Speaking on behalf of green plants everywhere, we would like to thank you for making it easier for us to breathe and grow. Keep up the good work.
Dear plants,
What the fuck is up with you? Why don't you grow more? We give you more CO2 and instead of you gobbling it all up, the levels in the atmosphere are still rising. Is it somehow too much for you?
Yeah, I have seen the men that make it seem like plants are blooming earlier than some years ago myself, spraying lots of pollen in the air. Not to mention preventing the plants from spitting them out when they actually would. The allergics are easily fooled, but not us two!
Why do scientists, who really ought to know better, confuse rounds numbers with significant milestones? Have we lost our command of even elementary statistics?
John
You are right, of course. They really should post a new monthly record every month for 5 or 6 months in a row each year instead . That will tell people. And Wazuppwitdat.com will point out the other 6 months as proof of cooling.
The funniest thing about that article in particular is that they totally cropped off the x-axis, so all you can really do is guess that points represent months?
Not half as funny as you not being able to find the non-cropped version at the bottom of the article.
The Sun is a stable G2 dwarf, and over the short term (millenia/eons) its power output is stable to parts per ten thousand.
Sure, I really would like that to be true too. But that "fact" doesn't explain the Maunder minimum which appears to be a fluctuation in solar power output considerably greater than the threshold your assertion. I notice that some researchers are actually claiming that a 0.2 W per square meter change in solar output somehow causes climate changes on par with a supposed 2 W per square meter heating today from greenhouse gases (other than water vapor).
Bad example to bring up in this discussion - because he fully believes that humans are the cause of growing CO2 levels (which is something heavily denied in this very discussion), and that this does lead to warming (although he believes its just local). He merely doesn't believe this is a big problem mostly because somebody will find a solution in the future. Which is actually the "solution" he proposed to every problem during his whole career.
Every time a denier/skeptic speaks, the quotes/reports from climate scientists come rolling in, but you're saying they can just ignore that because argument from authority fallacy. If you can't even appeal to authority, then you can never properly debate anything that you yourself didn't experiment with.
So your argument is that hundreds of authorities are wrong, but the one you follow is right. Because.
And how does energy independence and decentralized electricity generation (= greater individual freedom) move us closer to a totalitarian state?
Yawn. Yeah its all a big conspiracy. And for some reason they didn't stop when they found out that TERRORISM works so much better for their goals of New World Order. Nobody keeps you from bringing not really large amounts of liquids on board a plane by saying AGW. Nobody taps your phone by because of AGW. They don't even make you use lamps that use one tenth the energy because of AGW - they do because it fucking makes sense.

You just reminded me that I haven't purchased music since about 1998, so for me, there's no monopoly to worry about.
And coincidentally, the quality of new pop music has gone up since then, right?
Well, "Barbie Girl" was released in 1997....

Humans occupy the Earth's surface from past the Arctic circle to the Sahara desert, humans can handle a couple degrees difference in climate;
With heavy protective gear, or inside.

Interesting point. According to your theory, it should now be much colder than it was in the 1950s and 60s. Why the fuck isn't it? http://solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov/images/Zurich_Color_Small.jpg

Why to the police for a city with 1/4 million residents have desert camouflage?
They are prepared for attacks by Bedouins. Probably on camelback.
