Sony and pretty much Microsoft alike have a predatory, disruptive model of work. Also it is not their best interest to provide a continuity of services, and change things every so often, to create artificial needs for new products. They also do not work for the best interests of the industry or for their customers, but only for their goals. They often also do shadow or questionable moves via proxy firms in order to not tarnish more their reputation. They are not deceiving anyone. Any time they do something like this, they are only being true to their core models. You are just naive and dumb if you do business with them.
Slashdot is full of stupidity and you are here too. You also cannot say any thing remotely intelligent without some smart ass making some sort of remotely and supposedly intelligent snark comment. Also most of the times, they think they are so smart that jump to conclusions - I think if does matter much to them if they are true or not, to the point it gets boring posting something here, or at least taking care to read the reply. This post is also the perfect proof of that.
I am quite thinking of closing my fb account. FB lately has been only to keep tabs with the news of my retarded country, and keep in touch with my family. I have not ideia pretty much why, but my sister insistis in talking with me via FB instead of using other chat service.
They also quite happily, and apparently turn a blind eye to all spamming, despite my complaining. And the mask as spam button aside from hiding the current message serves no apparent purpose.
Well I signed up for elance, but between their commissions, the unreal price expectations of customers, and the rate indians offer, I never bothered to take a project. I do not particularly enjoy working for free. However it is particularly interesting seeing USA customers saying "we do not welcome indians" for this gig, but then defining an impossible price range for a guy in the 1st world to meet.

Not really nonsense, I am a mix of sysadmin/netadmin/ISP/security guy, DNS/DHCP/Linux expert, was consulting some years and some developer background. found my department my department in very bad shape and loads and loads of work, and the most senior guy around...too many hats, and the bigger help I got is people riding me of the bureaucratic problems. However that did not prevented me from writing a Radius/802.X book in the meanwhile, and being the support guy for FreeRadius for the portuguese federation. But yes, I am the guy speaking nonsense in this thread for sure.
A list of projects is something tangible, and something very real, not some thoughts. And I never talked about being compensated or not, and frankly, it is not none of your business, or anybody business, it is between me and my superiors.

Maybe because I have a CV that his long, and quite an unusual experience, I have never experienced bullying on the field, and never witnessed it too.
I also have some female friends in the industry, and fact is they are more afraid than us to make the jump to newer jobs. They are more social oriented, we always take the plunge for the green grass more impulsively and with lesser considerations "about the friends that we are leaving behind" (sic). Some of them also fail to grasp the unfortunate true, that despite having a penis, often on the industry the only way to get raises and promotions is to change jobs. The fact is guys change it more and have less qualms and fear about doing it.
