    I'll posit you this, but it's hRd to make. Claim that everybody with reservations about assisted suicide is tortuing a victim. What about people who support the issue, but did not vote due to apathy? Should they be tortured? How about people who voted but did not donate to a PAC? How about people who sympathize with Scott's pov but have reservations on. Religious grounds? Should they all be tortured?

    have an example? One example used to be telecom, but now there's a bunch of solid prepaid and new entrant (freedom pop) options. Cable? cur the cord, go apple tv / ota / Netflix. airlines? that's pretty tough still. I like southwest because they treat me better than others.

    yeah but if you're a customer of a sh!tty company you can just switch to a different company. similarly if you own sh!tty stock you can sell and buy different stock. what am I supposed to do when the US govt is sh!tty? move to a different country?

    google only has themselves to blame for Nortel. They could have bought the patents for X, but they decided that if they kept infringing and paid out any settlements it would cost X. It never occurred to them to not infringe on patents. that's the company culture.

    pc games are designed to be up close. all the font is 16 point. the on screen systems are very information dense. this doesn't work from across the room, regardless if its an xbox or a computer.

    once you've gone to all that trouble, why don't y ou just play xbox. pc games aren't designed for living room use.

    As I was pointing out to some folks thinking of buying a console there really is NO upsides to the consoles over the PC this gen

    Resale and rental of games. Use with no Internet connection for weeks at a time, such as by deployed service members. A tradition of using multiple controllers and one machine rather than trying to sell multiple copies to each household. Motion control (or does the Steam Controller have an accelerometer?). Possibly tying up the family PC while a game is being played. And possibly price, unless one of the SteamOS boxes with enough computing power to run games locally starts selling for $400.

    console games are fun to play because you sit on the couch in your living room. computer games you play at a desk, facing a wall. i spend all day at work facing a wall. why would I want to do it again at home?
