Stop bitching about what parts were cut out of a 1200 page book to movie. I'm not happy either, the majority of ROTK was left out. Im not happy about shelob, or Saruman, or Grima, or a lot of the things in LOTR the movie.
I'm not happy that jackson turned the first chapter of the hobbit into 20+ minutes of singing and bullshit. However, the movie was so much better than the entirety of LoTR trilogy already that theres no way part 2 and 3 won't make this waaaaaay better.
The people hating on the article need to get a clue. He may have worded it incorrectly but what he is saying that because of the internet these corporations have created, it has shifted to a consumer society rather than an internet populated by content-makers who build and run their own websites and host their own content. Further worsening things is SOPA and the other internet-dragon acts that, while not all entirely implemented, serve to do nothing but ruin the internet - people who do create content will be lucky if someone doesn't claim it was stolen, whether SOPA returns and gets passed or the internet stays the same. Google axes multiple blogger sites on a daily basis that are 100% legit and run entirely by their creator, containing original work made by said creator, and they aren't the only offender.
People have no less ability to find their own way on the internet than they did in the early days. However, so few people actually do (even among us IT workers) that the mainstream consumer culture of the internet obscures them and so this article is appropriate, to the general masses.
I have no problem with appletards being tasered on account of their insufferable and inexcusable fanboyism but not for just buying iphones. I mean lets be honest, you have two legit choices for a phone - droid, or iphone. You have to have a phone. Kind of. I don't and I'm glad.
Yea you do realize tasers are more lethal than a handgun right? At least if you get shot there is a plethora of places you can be hit where you don't die. A taser will stop your heart and kill you, the risk increasing with voltage and frequency of shock.
Yea that jerk with his 3 year law that he himself didn't write, passed by the 5th congress. Are you joking? It was a matter of martial imposition in a time when the country was less than a decade old and needed something to hold it together - there were still a lot of Torys and British and other fools potentially wandering around trying to stir up trouble.
Compared to oh yes say every single act passed by Obama and Bush which make the sedition act of 1798 and the sedition act of 1918 look like Adams and Wilson were handing out candy.
No. Calling the police/rentacops is reasonable if they looked at the bills and saw that they were fake. Refusing to sell a person thousands of dollars of your overhyped overpriced toy shit for no good reason is not reasonable, regardless of holiday season/availability. If she was buying like, 40 iphones, then yea, you should say excuse me ma'am other people need our crap.
Hey look more bad news. Cool. Like Dragisha said, for those of us who don't get oppressed by this, maybe we can hope for some societal advancement when all the internment camps are liberated.
Phone calls are a waste of time. I don't need to hear your voice. People don't need to hear my voice, or anyone's voice. The only people who do are those who need reassurance and, for conferencing purposes, they want to know you are listening. At [insert business telecom company here] I work with, they use conference bridge and mandate most people put their soft-phone mics on mute 'less they are currently saying something. I work on the phone, unfortunately, and I would be infinitely more efficient typing than talking.
Yes and no. Unfortunately my job requires a phone but we do all inter office comm with Lync/ Comm / Outlook and the businesses we work with use Cisco IP Comm and other programs like TouchStar (shudder). I guess if zombie apocalypse starts in the office, Aspect desk phones can kill a zombie. One.
That's pretty much ridiculous. So you're attempting to lead to a scientific label on all people born since 1980 as social anxiety ridden neckbeards. I would think the fact that people multi-media-multi-task now is a sign that we can actually handle more things at a time.
False. It's extremely rare to find a good modern keyboard that has PS/2. There's also no reason to free a USB port, any modern motherboard comes with more than enough, not to mention additional usb boards in the case.
If you can't do 120+ on a keyboard with a Windows key, or more importantly, run fullscreen apps like games without accidentally hitting the windows key, you don't belong on a computer. The Windows key is a wonderful key.
That's not terribly unusual. My first job out of college we had shelves of old CRT displays. We still used a PBX. We still had PS2 mice and keyboards laying around and ridiculously old adapters, and trackball mice.
I've never seen anything that isn't at least somewhat modern at any company since. I have with residential customers, and there's no reason to - it's absolutely ridiculous to be keeping your computer for 10 years. Yes it still works. If you don't do anything on it - simply browsing the web in 2012 compared to 2002 requires a much more powerful machine to maintain any level of comfort or functionality, due to changing web standards.
You couldn't pay me to hang on to a ps2 mouse or an old LPT switch or CRT monitor or IDE drive or anything else that old, except an Apple II or something like that. An Apple II at least has nostalgic and nerd value.
Yea that's not socialism in the slightest bit, that's business as usual for America - bringing together schools and community groups and businesses to advance awareness and literacy, etc. At least that's how it used to be.
And I hate to break it to you, the Left has been the major culprit in the history of this country, especially in the past 12 years, when it comes to censorship and constitution and bill of rights-raping/ass-wiping. What Bush started, the administrations since have made exponentially worse on a daily basis.
I believe now that you are being sarcastic.
You need a brit to tell you this?
Of course it won't. The revolution will not be censored. You can try all you want, it will only embolden them and us. And make no mistake, readers, "terrorists" is a transparent bullshit term used by an establishment stuck in 2001 who thinks we are too stupid and afraid to see reality anymore. This is and has and will continue to be used against normal, law-abiding Americans and other citizens of "free" western societies to keep us in line.
Don't let it.

Any theater with modern digital projection, so, any modern theater.
120 hz refresh and frame rate are completely separate things. And broadcast tv looks like ass, that's why it's hard to adjust to HD TVs.
Having just left the movie about 9 hours ago: 1) It is a good thing. 2) To anyone who plays PC Games this is utterly unnoticeable. Bfd.

Actually, no. Hope that's sarcasm. Tasering a potential exporter is extremely unjustifiable unless they also are a violent threat to you.
AKA bullshit. A 70 pound woman could control an 80 lb woman, everything the cops say anymore is a lie. There really is no defense for their actions.

You didn't see the itunes 11 EULA? You agree to be tasered if you try to spend too much money at the Apple store.

You'd be surprised. Most tech companies are staffed nigh exclusively by technological incompetents, and lets not mention non-tech fields.
That is the worst part of working over VPN. My boss used to call me like every 8 seconds because he's a micromanager. I'd be like dude leave me alone.

Modern keyboards are 106 key, sir.

Absolutely correct.
