Actually, there is a project underway now to add compact flash capabilities in a springboard for the Visor. Seems to me that, if they're successful, the trg pro will no longer be offering anything different.

  7. Similar Problem on Slow Linux 2.2.x Telnet? · · Score: 1

A while back, after first installing RH6 on my gateway (3c509), it began acting suspicious. Any traffic between my desktop (3c905TX, Win98, ugh), and the gateway would slow down to a crawl, then eventually drop packets. Bringing the interfaces down and up would fix it, but 5 mins later, it would slow back down again. I had a continuous ping -t running from my desktop to the gateway, and I noticed that it started slowing down when I started downloading/browsing from the 'net. If the line was idle, everything was fine.

After the swearing, and about a day, the problem completely disappeared. The only thing I can think of that would have fixed it was that I rebooted...

I am also a subscriber to Sympaticos HSE service.
I researched both camps (DSL and Cable), and abandoned cable. I'm practically in the only neighbourhood in Toronto without it. Sheesh. Besides that, the majority of my friends with cable have had horrible times with crappy cabling issues, busted modems and downtime.

The package they shipped me came with a bad DSL modem first time around (typical). The bell tech that came out just stood there slack jawed when i tried to tell him about Linux and IP masq'ing.
