Who is Walter Isaacoson?
The guy who wrote an authorized biography of Jobs in 2011.
You of course would look into the source before you jump to the defense of your hero icon. Right? I assume your apology will be forthcoming. Especially considering how some of those 16 incidents were actually published in said AUTHORIZED biography.
He was discussing a moral obligation to attempt to keep the lines of communication up.
He never said he could not keep them up, or that he could not stay in business. Perhaps you should actually read the article. Mmm Kay?
Bullets are loaded into a round.
Rounds are placed into clips.
You use a speed loader to load the clips into the magazine.
It would annoy you a whole heck of a lot more if someone were to point at their tower and refer to it as the CPU wouldn't it?
My CPU is making a weird clunking noise.. no your computer is making a noise. Your CPU is very quiet.
My computer is keeps saying out of memory, and I have deleted all the pictures off of my computer.. Why does it keep lieing to me?!?! Its not.
Words have meanings, especially technical terms. You cannot just take a term that refers to one part of a larger object, and refer to it as that larger object. Maybe that is pedantic, but it is important to use words correctly when possible/reasonable.
I was in the military. You use speed loaders to put clips into a magazine.
You deviate from that terminology and the weapons sgt will have your rear end.
Look even wikipedia agrees:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clip_(ammunition)
A clip is a device that is used to store multiple rounds of ammunition together as a unit, ready for insertion into the magazine or cylinder of a firearm
Please get your teminiology correct. It is about as annoying as the people who refer to their hard drive as"memory" or their tower as the "cpu"
Yes, and the angry people are going to say thank you and walk away. Completely believing your story.
These people are not like your average girl scout. They are mad, and they want their damn phone back. They will not be walking away when you give them your polite response. You thinking so, means you haven't thought this through.
By more then half?
Thats a bit of a stretch.
You are telling me that the cheapest apple laptop on that list has better hardware then the most expensive one on the list?
That 900 dollar pc has:
Screen Size 15.6 inches
Max Screen Resolution 1920*1080 pixels
Processor 2.4 GHz
RAM 8 GB DDR3
Hard Drive 1.00 TB
Graphics Coprocessor Nvidia GT 635M 2G
Wireless Type 802.11bgn
Number of USB 2.0 Ports 2
Number of USB 3.0 Ports 4
The 1000 dollar mac laptop has:
Screen Size 13.30 inches
Max Screen Resolution 1280x800 pixels
Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
RAM 4 GB DDR3
Hard Drive 500 GB
Graphics Coprocessor Intel HD Graphics 4000
That looks like crap comparatively. IN EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY.

Thats funny. In that list the Apple laptops range from 1000 to 2000 dollars.
The PCs on the other hand range from ~400 to 910 dollars.
It looks like on average they cost twice as much as PC laptops. These are just the best sellers, sure maybe you can dig up an apple tv that has been slapped in a netbook case for 750 dollars, but it certainly is the norm that Apple computers cost more then PC computers.
(You may be able to make a claim that they are better for whatever reason, but that does not deny the fact that they DO COST ALOT MORE.)
The solution you propose is similar to what I have recommended to my friends. Just some way to call and check to see if the other person holds a valid license. It should be as simple as a call.
Well because there are a number of benefits to steam's method.
I can play my games offline.
I can play my games on ANY pc,
I get my games dirt cheap during sales. usually for 50-75% off retail. ( I have not paid more then 30 dollars for any game in years now, and I own all of the big titles that I want.)
I do not have to keep track of the media.
I do not have to keep track of CD keys.
They allow me to backup the games.
I do not have to have a cd in the drive while I am playing.
So I do not have a method to resell my games. I never sold games before Steam, in fact I usually just lost one of 5 cds or the cd key. In fact my games from before steam are mostly unplayable due to either a damged/missing disc or a missing CD key code.
That is why I use steam. They give me a fair bit in return for loosing the ability to sell the game.
If you want to bag on DRM/Online distributing, you should take a look at games for windows live. If anyone deserves ridicule they do.
Log in on the one computer, go offline mode. Go log onto second computer. You play Civ 5, and the young un plays torchlight on the offline mode one.
I am assuming this is for a family member or other resident of the house of course.
Its all good.
LG is a large maker of displays. I cannot really attest to the quality, but they do make a very large portion of displays you can find.
At least as of 2010 they were a larger manufacturer then samsung.
LG Display (Korean: LG , KRX: 034220 and NYSE: LPL) is the world's largest LCD panel maker,[1] ahead of Samsung Electronics in a slender lead.
Your entire second comment was unwarranted. I do not hate apple by any means.
My point is they have rushed to other suppliers with bad results. Remember LG is a reputable supplier as well as TSMC and they have had problems with the LG screens. It is prudent to wait to see how TSMC pans out before people jump on the bandwagon.
You need to be careful there, the way you rush to the defense of apple using phrases starting with "Id bet" as evidence makes you sound like an Apple apologist.
There have been issues with both the maps and the lg screens. both were caused by apple rushing away from prior suppliers. It would be wise to be wary of that happening again. Rushing into it with your supposition that you are sure TSMC has corrected all their problems is based in no evidence whatsoever.
Gunfighter does not use roads.
Gunfighter does not depend on any sort of regulation.
Gunfighter is a self made man, and has never relied on anything that society/civilization provides.
Gunfighter is also either naive, or an idiot.
You need more then a bump to disable the alarm. The key has a rf chip in it, the key needs to be in the ignition to disable the alarm. It needs to be in the ignition to be read. Once the alarm verifies the key it disables the alarm. It has been this way for years actually. My 98 exploder was this way. AFAIK it has been this way since they started putting chips in the keys.
You can tell if your key has a chip, because it usually has a large plastic housing for the grip. All metal, or small plastic housing and there is probably no chip.

It is essentially price fixing. It is not capitalism. Your corporate overloads appreciate you thinking it is though.
That story isn't listed, but read these 16 examples, and you will not find it hard to believe. http://www.businessinsider.com/steve-jobs-jerk-2011-10?op=1
Contracts signed under duress (Sign this or I call the cops) are unenforceable. There your entire tirade was for naught.

Fail, Paternt will be extended to the life of the inventor. If the inventor will live forever, so will the patent.
There is an XKCD for everything.

What makes you think it does work? Wait... Whats that, you are just as ignorant of the facts as the person you are replying too?

Moot point. The point is they rushed away from known good supplies. It does not matter WHY they did it, just that the move was rushed.
