Not really. If you had read the post you would have said. I was trying to explain this to a person that thinks all Republicans are stupid and evil.
Actually up till the late 1960s and 1970s Republicans where far more supportive of Civil Rights than the Democrats of the time. A lot of that had to do with the fact that at the time the two Democratic strong holds where the south and the Unions.
The Unions where very anti-civil rights until the mid to late 60s because they saw African Americans as competition to their workers.
The South was well the south. Look up George Wallace.
Of course it isn't all that clear cut. You did have the liberal wing of the Democratic party that was mainly from the North East that was pro civil rights.
And then you had a Democrat that frankly I consider an unsung hero of the Civil rights moment which was Truman. It was Truman that integrated the military which was a really brave thing for a man from Missouri to to. He was not really from the Liberal North East wing of the Party but I guess he was just a really good man. It was also an ideal time because it was so rapidly downsizing anyway that retention really wasn't an issue.
But my point as you can see is that there are now and always have been good and bad people in both parties.
To say that Republicans are all stupid racists is wrong. My facts are correct. They where correct when I stated them before.
A large part of it was a divide between north and south but at the same time the Republican party did have a much better record of civil rights support at that time in history.
There was a lot of African American support for the Republican party at that time and until the 1930s African Americans almost exclusively supported the Republican party. FDR did change that a good bit but then FDR really changed everything a good bit.

As I said good people in both parties. My goal is to end the cheerleading vilification mentality by showing people that their preconceived notions are wrong.
At the same time I am trying to get the Republican party to move back towards the center where it really belongs.
The Democratic party is such a mixed bag right now. I would like to believe that it is mainly in the center but with a bunch of loud mouth extremist loons that get all the attention.
Or maybe they are just like the Republicans just with a different flavor of loons.

For Google it would be have the patents to defend themselves from Apple and probably Microsoft.
For Nokia it would probably to have patents to use to attack Apple with.

My sneaking feeling is that Palm has a lot of patents on sync. The Palm devices where really the first device I remember that did a desktop sync like the iphone / ipod does. I believe that is why Apple never went through with their threats at Palm. Those patents could mean that Apples iTunes and Microsoft's Activesync are all infringing.
Of course this is all a guess off the top of my head.

Honestly WebOS is great mobile OS. The SDK sucked but they are fixing that. The UI is very good and it is easy to use.

Yes I would. Nixon while vilified did a lot of things that would seem almost liberal today.
He signed the first nuclear arms control treaty. "Kenndy was a huge hawk and used the "missile gap" in his campaign. He signed the bill creating the EPA. He signed the Clean Water Act. And he normalized relations with China... I am not sure how I feel about that one.

Guess what good and smart people can even disagree on many issues.
Many issues come down to what each thinks is best but in many cases there is no scientific proof that one is right or wrong.
The yelling and hate need to stop. The first step is to realize that one needs to forget about parties when they vote in the general elections and start looking at individuals.
Second is voters need to stop being "supporters" and party members.
We are the boss conducting a job interview. The candidates are not heroes. They are our employees.

So stop trying to justify the evils or polarization and vilification. It happens on both sides. Trust me there are people that think I am a screaming liberal because I do not tolerate people insulting President Obama. There are people that think that I am screaming conservative because I dare to say that I do not agree with President Obama's polices and I do not think he is a good president.

"Dynamic Tidal Power (DTP) is a new concept involving the construction of very long dams of about 30 to 50 km, extending from the coast straight out into the ocean, with a perpendicular barrier at the far end, forming a large 'T' shape."
That very long dame going 30 to 50 km out into the sea is the mother of all Jetties. It would have a huge effect on the flow of water and sediment along the cost. Maybe you know little to nothing about the sea but there are often strong currents that flow along the costs that are vital to the ecology of the cost lines.
Even a small jetty well under 1 km in length can cause a lot of problems along the coast line.
And I fear that you also have no idea what a storm surge is. It isn't a title surge. It is a wall of water that a hurricane pushes in front of it.
The east coast of Florida is lucky because we do a lot of big storm surges because of the shape of our coast and the seabed. You put a 50km dam anywhere on the coast and get a storm hitting that area correctly and instead of 2 to five meter surge you could see a ten plus meter surge. Which will take the damage from the millions to the 10 of billions in places.
Not only that but it could take the death toll from zero to hundreds or thousands depending on the evacuation.
Only a child or someone that doesn't live near the sea would think that you could put a huge dam 50 km out into the sea and not have huge consequences.
So no I think you have fallen in love with this mega project and are dismissing the potential issues it could cause. You simply call them engineering challenges and they are that. Can they be resolved? Maybe.
But the engineering challenges, uncertainty, and frankly costs of this project are much greater than a nuclear power plant.
And frankly the likely ecological impact as well.
Just think of the cost and difficulty of building a 50KM dam out into the sea!
And then building the T shape at the end of it!
Then think how vulnerable it is to storm damage.
Thanks but no thanks. This is well into the pipe dream category.
You like to use the words retarded and moron. I suggest that stop using middle school tactics and consider that as in all proposed "big ideas" that the risks are under explored and often over looked while the costs and difficulties are under estimated.
Here is an example of you not thinking clearly about the problems.
Sediments will not just stuck in the turbines the will be dropped all along the dam up to the turbines. It will also tend to starve other locations of those sediments. Like everything else in nature sediments are not good or bad. The right amount is vital. Too much is terrible. Too little is terrible.
That is just one really big issue with this.
    Next issue for you.
Many types of fish and wild life migrate up and down coasts. That dam will cause them issues and going through turbines is not usually a good thing for fish.

So you can keep calling name because I dare to point out just how risky this mega structure really is all you want but the risks are very real and not easy to dismiss if you know even a little bit about the ocean.
