I wanted to point out a nifty piece of software- VoodooPad ( http://flyingmeat.com/voodoopad.html ) which will export it's wiki contents to the iPod notes folder (in the latest version, 1.1 alpha).
It turns your ipod into a Wiki on the go... Here's a great writeup of the software from Oreilly entitled "Wiki meet iPod"- http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/wlg/3164
Just so you know, 1.3.1 has been out for months for Mac OS X too- this is just an update to it- bug fixes. 1.3.1 shipped with the os last March.
Apple has publicly announced ( on the mrj-dev mailing list ) that they are working on 1.4, and that a preview will be available in May.
It's also worth noting that the VM that ships with Mac OS X comes with features that 1.4 includes- such as sharing runtime resources, and graphics improvments.
Well, no. We don't need to. But I see nothing wrong with choice. If you want a phone that just calls people, then get that. I however think it's a pretty cool idea.
Incidentally, has anyone else noticed that the MacOS scheme is equivalent to having 4 character extensions which aren't displayed, with the corresponding problem of having malicious executables named README.txt (or even README)?
When did this become a MacOS problem? What's the difference between that and my mom downloading a linux binary on her shiny Redhat install that she thinks is going to do something... uh.. neat?

Quite frankly, people who seriously factor the appearance of a computer into their buying choices are idiots.
I bet you drive a Yogo, don't you?
Shame on people who value style in their lives (or living rooms!). Shame on the people who want something more than a big grey box making lots of noise. Shame, Shame, Shame.
>Spritel? Nexint? Vista?
Sextel.

Do we really need to carry this much technology?

And I won't even mention windows' problems.
Just press cmd-Q and choose skip.
