  2. Clever, but I'm not a fool on Samsung Offered StackOverflow Users $500 For "Organic" Publicity · · Score: 1

This is all a conspiracy, it is much cheaper to make up a story like this than to pay several users $500. Think about it, I had never heard of the evil "Samsung Smart App Challenge" until I read this post and I am sure I wouldn't have noticed it in the comments. Well played Samsung.

I wish they told us how they were hashed and if they used a salt so that we might get an idea of how many minutes we have to change the password on any accounts with the same password. Luckily for me though I have different pws for almost everything. Maybe this will promt them to make uplay better... I remember when I tried the Heroes game and got tired of playing once the multiplayer games stopped syncing and it became unplayable. Eh, I was just as disappointed with Sim City 5... board games tend to work most of the time though

If there is a demand to open up and view a certain file type there will always be someone to create an app or website which will either open up the file or convert it to a more compatible format. There are already services out there that convert word to pdf for example oh and I just found an iPhone app for converting files, yay!

But is it really that wrong or bad? Wouldn't it be great if we lived in a society that had less homeless people and less poverty because everyone pitches in a little extra? Is it fair that a child should get worse education because you say his or her parent's are "lazy". It is about giving everyone an equal opportunity while still having the freedoms that you do now. I don't know much about this party, but it sounds a lot better than what America has now.

  14. Lua with Minecraft + Tekkit mod on 'CodeSpells' Video Game Teaches Children Java Programming · · Score: 3, Informative

Try tekkit for minecraft, it will give you a mod called computercraft which will allow you to place computers with consoles on the map and even hook up wireless modems and a disk drive to them. Using lua you can then program these computers to do whatever you want basically, me and my brother made 3 train stations which would handle carts and track switches with the computers. You can even program "bots" with lua and have them build structures and whatnot. They can even defend your area if you want. All this is done with lua inside the minecraft game. You can of course import larger scripts from outside the game since typing them in the console minecraft provides can take a while.

I am a PHP and Objective-c developer starting my last year in college after the summer and I recently started a android app project and found it pretty easy to understand due to my knowledge of other languages. Taking courses in C/C++ and making some games with openGL has really taught me more and I love it.

  20. Switch King? on Smartest Light Bulbs Ever, Dumbest Idea Ever? · · Score: 2

I use switch king for my home and I think it works great, works with the X10 stuff as well but there are many more adapters available and they only cost around $20-$30. Some mount behind switches and communicate wirelessly with a server, I use a cheap netbook for $300. I have probably spent about $700 total to get 5 rooms controlled wirelessly. I can control my lights with the switch king app on my iphone, any computer, or any switch on the wall. I can also schedule when lights should turn on and off if I want to. It's a nice and cool setup but is it still worth it, probably not :)
