My take on it is that people like to work on the most interesting aspects of Open Source Projects. There had been a lot of "who-ha" about Window Managers, and a lot of publicity for the makers. (Icaza(ya ya ya Not a WM), Raster, etc) I love my WindowMaker, and I have used it for a long time. You use what you are used too, and I do have a lot of respect for people that spend the time to make these things, but there are a lot of boring projects that need attention to. Don't feel like gracing you with a response, but i think that you do not look at things from all directions. I am glad/. has more resources now from Andover (MUCH faster). Why do you say Rob is on a quest to destroy it? Do you usually destroy things you dedicate your life too? The moderation is necessary(se the spam comments for this article) If you don't like the way it is, don't read it. Shall we become like rootshell?
I must say that I found this list to be not only full of bad choices, but rather elementary at best. Besides the fact that the hand dryer made the list, and the light bulb, plow, gun, internal combustion engine, nuclear reactor, dam, and flat screen LCD's (my fav) didn't make the list, the journalism was lacking. I think that lists as journalism are generally poorly done(read Time Magazine), and should be left undone.
He floated a bond on his future earnings, not an IPO. You can't exactly buy anything to control him, but you can buy an interest bearing note hoping he will make enough money to pay it back....
There IS no spoon! Sorry, I couldn't resist. J
