Did you actually read the links I posted? I know this is slashdot and all, but you'll see that these are actual studies where current events questions were asked and Daily Show Viewers scored better than other TV show viewers.
Bah, that 15 minutes it took them to download the song provided entertainment as well, so your argument is moot. For a large portion of people, they will be willing to "work" for less when they "work" for themselves. So even if it took them 15 minutes to download one song, it is still worth it.

This is extremely easy to answer: The removal of the coupon got them bad news on CNN, etc. By saying they are giving everyone a $50 credit and mentioning their buy two get one free on used, they are actually paying very little for good advertizing. Every news story about this will include their deal for their used games.
If I was the cynical type, I'd say they planned it all along for the free advertizing.
I am saying a top of the line Mac could be explained in a poor person's house if the main character is a petty thief. Why read more into it? This is about product placement in TV/Movies.
I sadly agree. Increase taxes (WTF is with lowering taxes in wartime anyways? Never in the history of the United States have taxes failed to be raised to pay for war), lower spending and while we will have a painful time, I would much prefer to have the $400b in extra money we're currently paying in interest going to bettering our country.
The US is almost but not quite at record highs on debt as a percentage of GDP. We were at this point previously right at the end of WWII. At the end of WWII we had the Marshall Plan, which allowed us to get out of that debt load. I don't see us gaining that much helping rebuild the countries of Iraq, Afganistan and Lybia. So we've been here before, but the method we used to get out of this situation isn't going to work here.

Even 100% debt free you should keep a credit card and use it for things like gas and groceries and pay it off each month in full to keep your credit history in place. It costs you nothing to do so, and often you can get a card that gives cash back, thus saving money.

There are multiple countries that have legalized drugs (portugal, etc) and in each of those countries the results have been exactly the opposite of what you propose will happy in your grand parent post. So unless YOU can show where portugal is a fluke, then you are going to have to support your assertion a bit better.

According to Hawaii Law both short and long form birth certificates are valid for any request of birth certificate. So if you think the Hawaii law is incorrect or interpreted incorrectly, show how. But don't say he didn't provide his birth certificate. He did. Hawaii did as well.
YES. The facts of this is that this information isn't new. The birth announcements have been reported on, the copy of the birth certificate was provided. The person in Hawaii who's job it is to keep track of the birth announcements said that she personally saw the original and in accordance to Hawaii LAW, she could say that she saw it and it proves he was born in hawaii, but she doesn't have the ability to give out copies or show it to anyone except Obama or Obama's appointed representative. This is debunked BS that has been debunked for YEARS.
