So, according to this logic, if my computer dies and I buy a new one I should not be able to install my very expensive software on this new computer? That isn't a good idea. There is no way I will pay a few hundred dollars for software and not be able to install it if I ever get a new computer. The lifespan of modern computers isn't that high. People upgrade their computers way too much for a scheme like this to work.

Do you have a source for the 15 billion amount? The number sounds very cheap to me. If it's only 15 billion we need to start on this as soon as technologically possible. I'm for anything that can get us off this planet. If it can do it cheaply, even better.

"So debt serves as a transfer mechanism of money to people who already have money to people who haven't." seems to have a serious flaw in the logic of it. You are completely ignoring the fact that the people that pay most of the taxes are the people that make more money. Poor people pay almost zero income tax if they pay any. The current system is very unfair as the people that pay the least taxes get the most government benefits and those that pay more taxes get less benefits. We need to move away from a welfare state and back towards what the constitution says our country should be.

This would be the best solution for getting things into orbit. Would be expensive initially but wouldn't require heavy rocket fuel to get things into leo.

In a state with minimal government people will actually have to do things themselves. They will give the businesses who take care of them their business. Thus, the businesses which take care of their customers get the most customers and flourish. Those who try to screw over their customers will die out. The problem comes now because people expect every company to be honest and controlled by regulators. Because they have a false sense of security, people give their money to good and bad businesses and don't allow the free market to work.

It seems to me that if this goes through smaller ISPs will slowly die off. I am not currently using a small ISP but it will be a sad day when the big phone companies are allowed to crush them under and drive them out of business.

The reason SonicBlue isn't screaming 5th amendment to the press is PR. Most people, when they hear that someone has plead the 5th, assume that the defendent is guilty. Unfortunately by pleading the 5th SonicBlue would look like they have something to hide and they are trying to avoid that.
