I've been reading the rec.video.desktop newsgroup for a while, and I have seen similar discussions in the group. Checking there to ask some experts would get you in the right direction.
I'd like to know the reason for this. If they want to take advantage of Open Source they need to post beta software. So other users can find bugs. Therefore the end "stable" product will be better.

I have a kenwood cd player. It's tons better than any sony discman out and was actually cheaper and better looking. I hope they really improve Linux.
