The DOD tried procuring stiff upper lips. But the analyst contractors they hired put together a 30 minute power point presentation outlining the how and why they were incompatible with our current military strategy. Ending with the simple fact that a retrofit would slash everyone's budget across the board.
Yeah.. after a real, actual shooting (Dark Knight Rises) a few years ago -- people still went and saw it. An actual, physical event, with a body count, and it did not scare people away. Copycats be damned.
this is just sad. Sony perhaps looking for a reason to pull the movie to save face (IE, they know it's shit.)
Tucows is still around??? I remember downloading crap from them in 1995. A quick google shows that not much has changed in the intervening 19 years.
Does their fiber service come with the signature bloatware as well?
(Side note, it's interesting to see internet companies that ostensibly have no reason to exist, yet are still alive and.. sorta-kinda-maybe-kicking today. Lycos for example. I'm frankly gobsmacked that they might wind up outliving their labby mascot. Or askjeeves, no quasi-witty joke needed.)
bizarro slashdot Nope, no sir. Headlines like this are in no way shape or form fodder for the 'deniers'; which then causes the 'believers' to come out in droves. This thread will absolutely be filled to the brim with insightful, informed conversation.
The other component to the urban sprawl thing is the pattern in which the development occurs.
Some real estate developer will get his mitts on a tract of land, and develop a subdivision -- access to and from this new sub-division is kind of a "step 2: ???" process. So you can wind up with many randomly placed subdivisions with or without proper arterial connections to the rest of the city. and it's a clusterfuck.
Because despite the touch screen, i really like the car. Overall it is really a pretty minor gripe -- I just don't like the direction the auto industry is headed in the entertainment department.
Fusion owner here with the "my ford touch" sync system + touch sensitive climate/media controls on the console. Having to take your eyes off the road to make sure you're touching the right 1x1 inch area on the screen, or small indentation seems silly.
Every car I've had prior had physical buttons for these things that after about a week of owning the car could be operated completely by touch alone.
Have you heard of soda-stream before?:) They went even farther. You don't 'own' the bottle, you lease it. It uses a booby trapped connector that AFAIK will mechanically fail when attempting to refill a bottle with non-sanctioned compressors.
It really isn't that great of coffee. It's not bad, just a quick cup of mediocre coffee done quickly.
But the appeal has always been coffee in about 30 seconds, with only a button to push, and no cleanup.
Having both a keurig and a single serve espresso machine: in the mornings I'll go with the Keurig -- coffee's ready by the time i finish leashing up the dogs and getting ready to take them outside. If i want an actual cup of coffee to relax and enjoy though; the espresso machine wins 100% of the time.

So, this is what we get.

I'd say it was the day the DHS and TSA were creaed.
Google is clearly evil. what kind of kool-aid are you consuming? ..

what on earth does denmark gain from having greenland as a territory? Other than PHP, what ever came out of Greenland?

I'm looking at you Phoenix.
Ack! Sorry to reply to my own post, but forgot to mention.. Harrison Ford isn't even a frequent contributor.
Yeah, they should have asked bennet what he thinks... not some actor.
All I want for Christmas is Bennet roasting on an open fire.

Native Martians would also appear out of the wood work protesting the road going through sacred burial grounds. Consider it a twofer.
That's what you get for adopting a subversive open source zealot dog. I bet you named him "stallman".
Why wouldn't the utilities start leasing rooftop space and own the generation capacity of the panels, perhaps paying the homeowner for the right?
It doesn't have to be a zero sum game.
Assuming the NCR would actually let anyone ride the monorail.
Could someone (who is preferably a frequent contributor) explain what this article is about in no less than 20,000 words?
Thanks.
