    It will bring on elitism in a form and magnitude the world has never seen before. It might be good for the individual, but for society it's a terrible mistake.

    Using that logic though -- the earth is what... 4.x billion years old (Okay, some of the resources we're overusing have first started appearing much later on, say 250m years ago) ... and has only been in 'overshoot' mode for ~50? I think we've got some time to figure things out.

    Conservation is great, but bullshit like this is not the way to encourage it.

    You're replying to a clear and obvious troll attempt.. But then again, it's not like there was an embargo (that was absolutely not imposed by a capitalist country either) that kept Cuba at a level of development from 1950, and led to wide spread poverty. Totes didn't happen.

    Yep blame socialism. (Though blaming socialism is usually the right answer.. just not in this case.)

    you have to wonder if there's some convergent evolution going on as well.

    Given an earth-like planet, several billion years, and the same sort of 'events' that life on earth has seen -- is it unlikely that evolution would arrive at something strikingly similar to what we have on earth?

    thunderbolt 3 is pretty standard at this point in time for eGPU's.

    And, I might sound like a bit of a fanboy, but it's nice having a relatively light laptop I can lug around while traveling or whatnot, but when gaming I can hook it up to an eGPU and get pretty good performance. (roughly 80% of the desktop performance for a given card)

    Granted it's cheaper to just go with a desktop; but in my case I already had a spare 970gtx and a laptop with TB3 -- so an extra 250ish for the eGPU box wasn't that big of a stretch.
