  1. Re:That last sentence makes no sense on Why Apple and Google Made Their Own Programming Languages · · Score: 1

Ouch. Someone being offended on the lack of their gender (or not their gender) being in an article sounds sexist to me. Either way, the people who would get offended because something like "he" is used or that "maid" was used or that "fireman" was used should probably spend more time focusing on the subject of what the author is talking about and worry less about semantics and how "nice" someone is trying to appeal.

  2. Halloween Anyone? on Cute Or Creepy? Google's Plan For a Sci-Fi Teddy Bear · · Score: 1

Sounds like they spent a lot of time talking about how it will stare at you and do a boatload of other creepy stuff. Outfit this bad-boy with some 'scary' vanity items, or maybe bash it up a bit and remove various parts, and you've got the horrors of several children. I think this and putting it in very odd places to scare friends and co-workers is the only use of this toy that comes to mind.

So no, new users will NOT be probably turned off by the price of entry into the community, even if the threshold is $50. Personally, I think the threshold should be $25 and three months of use.

Actually, I've had multiple times where I wanted to play a game with some friends but couldn't as they were not able to add me as a friend as they had not bought a game. $25 and three months of use just to be able to add my own friends to play some game that would say, be only $5-10 sounds ridiculous.

First of all, I would make it so you can press the Enter key and it conducts your search. Forcing people to either tab or navigate their mouse to the button makes it a little annoying.

  5. Doesn't Work For Me on Microsoft Finally Allows Customers To Legally Download Windows 7 ISOs · · Score: 2

Unfortunately, my OS is kind of screwed right now. Some registry files or another got fucked up from an installation of directory opus, and I can no longer open control panel, explorer, display, fonts, etc etc. The recovery (back to factory state) on my Dell computer does not work; it gives me a pretty lengthy error that pretty much states "The recovery partition is corrupted." So, I go to Microsoft's site, put in my key, and there it is (paraphrased from memory): "Your computer came with a preinstalled operating system and we can not provide you an ISO, check with your hardware provider." Fuck.

To be honest, not everyone wants to listen to the music you listen to, nor the music I listen to. And that's fine. I wouldn't want someone blasting their music through a boom box when I do not care to listen to it.

How flattering Apple, you know, this reminds me of (insert country here) that is collecting a ton of (insert commodity here). They don't plan to use it of course. They just like collecting it, and doing nothing interesting with it. No, nothing special all. Isn't that right, Apple? Or, should I say, Big BrApple?!?! (Terrible joke, I know)

  15. Re:This actually isn't half bad on Valve Shows How Steam Controller Works In Real Life · · Score: 1

Console producers slap a computer together, mass-produce it and sell it under a price tag. With this they can corner a series of games exclusively for that console alone, so if you want to play a certain game, you'll have to buy the console. And if you just happen to own a console/PC where the game was not originally designed to play on, you'll probably end up with a buggy game. But the biggest issue is that most console games treat their player as if they couldn't handle the concept of pushing a button. You think most of these horridly generic games would be intuitive as to how to play. There are many more reasons why consoles ruin videogames, it's just this awful generifying of games that all have the same exact issue that is not necessary yet included in every game. Oh well consoles, if you think I don't understand the concept of moving with an analog stick, then I doubt I could've actually turned the console on myself.
