Can I propose that all AC posts henceforth be automatically listed at the bottom of the page? I had to wallow through 30+ posts of scooby, face-pissing, hot grits and whatnot before I got to the first on-topic post.
They may be democratic today, but we were arming them to the teeth ever since they were the military dictatorship of General Chiang. The CCP won China fair and square from those corrupt and incompetent nationalists, and if Truman hadn't parked the 7th fleet in the Taiwan strait, China would be one today.
True, but a protest without a message is really just mass loitering. If they were trying to protest, they should have at least suggested what they were protesting against.
Schmidt said the intruder was 'sloppy' in his work and failed to destroy all the logs monitoring activity on the server. "There wasn't a great effort to hide their presence.."
Which could mean that they were sloppy, or that they perhaps forged some logs for the FBI to find, knowing that the media would eat it up with a spoon. No way to tell at this point.
Does anyone else recall the time that members of the L0pht testified before the senate, and Sn. Fred Thompson called them heroes for writing these programs that expose the vulnerability of America's computer infrastructure?
Eugene is where the black-clad anarchists in the Seattle riots were from, its also the place where the people who tried to sever the power lines on the night of Jan. 1st were from.
For anarchists, they're pretty cool. They're just entirely too predictable.
FWIW, the japanese versions of all MS products has always had this issue. Not just peren's either, like entire lines of text and the [ok] and [apply] buttons in the display properties for example. (This only happens if you have an english-language display properties "enhancement" program loaded)
I've been using win2k for nearly a month now (the multilanguage feature is very useful).
It's slow, and it's way buggy. Programs that are usually stable like FreeAgent and Napster crash all the time. And not just a "pop, they're gone" crash, they could bring down the entire system. I was rebooting it at least once a day. I finally switched back to Win98 which I find to be far more stable.
I have to disagree. I would say the US is the player with a vested interest (in all 3 things you mentioned), and the EU comes far closer to being impartial.
Consumers in general are overwhelmingly against Genetically Modified food, and believe Microsoft is too powerful. But only in Europe is that reflected anywhere in their regulations.
A week after I registered "magincia.org" for an Ultima Online guild page, MCI called me asking if Mr. Xiaofei (my character name) was interested in their business solutions.
Ironically, every movie I "sampled" from there that didn't suck ass I went out and bought. I probably wouldn't have otherwise.
This is way worse than usual.
And FYI, Taiwan isn't really a country.
The US Dollar needs more holograms! Who's with me on this?
I just dumped Win2k in favor of Win98 because it was more stable.

My suspicion is that anyone who knew enough about a *nix to crack it would suddenly be overqualified to work at Microsoft and go get a real job.
Fickle, aren't we.
If you're referring to Kip, I think the best evidence shows he was completely off his fscking nut. Not that that makes him a non-problem.
Why do people keep trying to implicate Microsoft and China in everything? It's really stupid.

Mystery Men was doubly funny if you could read those signs in Japanese, Cyrillic, and Devangari and knew they didn't say anything.
Adam West as Der Fleidermaus
John Luvitz (sp?) as Arthur
First and only comic book investment I ever made.
Arent you? I could swear there was a German computer publication called C'T.
Well, that would be the yankee boys at Monsanto ans ADM, not us hapless misinformed yankee consumers.

Smart is sexy. Most of my attraction to Scully is that she can use the words "mycologist" and "necrotize" in a scentence.
Frankly, I don't think Fox gave the show adequate time to prove itself. A lot of fun things could have been done.
Next Andrea Chen will start posting here.
