In a "privacy apocalypse" the "right people" will be bailed out with everybody else's wealth and the accompanying "nothing to see here, move along" warning.
Good heads up! I guess I am an old fart thinking L/N was just a legal and news archive. Did not know they had crossed over, apparently quite some time ago.
If they were subject to the level of liability that they *should* be subject to, they would have been gone long ago and replaced by those who know what they are doing.
No excuse is right. In what other industry would letting the entire contents of a warehouse of other people's property walk right out the door and the customers accepting the excuse "we didn't see them add an extra door?"* At least something is being said about it here.
*Besides banking.
Wow, this is a trip. On a current project (don't click my sig if you are not interested in it) the prosecutor of the bomber I am researching suggested this very FBI agent as a source for more information on the case. It was one year after the child porn charges were filed, but he was unaware of that wrinkle.
The prosecutor, now in private practice and will go unnamed, thought I would be viewed as "fringe" for my criticism of the Justice Department and the FBI for their budget fluffing over a bomber who stayed on the loose for 14 years.
Wonders never cease.
From what it sounds like, all they are doing is concentrating more access to fewer people. That makes the stew for colossal breaches, instead of mere large breaches. If you don't want someone walking out the door with all of your secrets, you have to make sure that nobody has access to ALL of your secrets.
I thought I already saw that in a car commercial about a decade ago, and it was a real option.
What is everybody getting all worked up over a head-up display (HUD) for anyway? They have been in use in military aircraft for decades.

I wonder what the NSA folks were saying about this speech in the hours before it was given?

I will not dignify that with a reply.

Rain-X Anti-Fog works wonders to prevent that.

Awesome stuff! For the Next Big Thing from MS: Wireless radio!
