If Firestone puts out bad tires, there is a recall. The same standards should apply for hardware and software.
If hardware makers would make their products with better quality we would not need as much tech support.
This is one place that Apple has a huge advantage. They do the hardware and the software, so we don't have a Ford mustang engine running in a Yugo on diesel gas and electric wiring from a tinker toy set. Of course Apple could do even a better job at making their own stuff work too though.

Y-E Data, a floppy drive manufacturer was making 8 inch drives until very recently, I am sure if the data is important enough they can still do it quite easily, but I am sure it would be expensive. Most of the parts would have to be made by hand or outsourced.

I would like to have something like this for LAN parties, but the GFX is not good enough. If they could make an improvement there, this would be an awesome machine for a LAN party, you could just plug it into a TV and rock.

I have an awesome Atari 800 sitting here on my desk, and that thing of course has an OS, but it has something else too, cartidges!!! We should bring this awesome stuff back. We need these because they are awesome looking. Forget about beige computers or even bondi blue! I want a Brown computer like the Atari 400 that has a membrane keyboard that sounds like the top of a snapple cap when you type.
Just stick in the cartidge of the App you want to use. And you nay-sayers out there will ask "How are you supposed to multitask?"
Well, the Atari 800 has 2 cartridge slots!

I want a MP G4 Atari 8000
What do you mean? Is there info about previous versions of a DOC contained from edited DOC files that can be looked at? How is this done. Sounds interesting.
