Pretty much spot on. I have a Mac with Parallels with Windows, but I basically gave that up a while ago and just use my wife's Windows machine if I need to do something that is Windows-only. I got tired of having to update both my and my wife's computers' anti-virus, Windows updates, Office updates (well I do have Office for Mac, so that's not 100% correct), whatever the fuck else updates.
I see this as a nice tool for developers that work in multiple spaces. That's about it.
This is off topic, as it is not emulation, but Boot Camp can run most stuff that runs on Intel chips. I mention this only because I'm running an a 6 year old Macbook that dogs it on emulation nowadays, and rebooting into my other OSs saves time overall.
"I use Virtual Box on occasion when I have to support Windows systems." And there you blow your argument right out the window (pun intended).
In you first post you said- "I have played with emulators for just about everything, even Android. I fail to see a purpose, my full Linux desktop does everything I need..."
And now you completely contradict yourself. "Everything I need" does not equal except "when I have to X".
Yeah, got to agree with you on this one. Pretty sure other OSs have VM software, too. Have to say I'm tired of Parallels, though, they keep updating (with incompatabilities) their program faster than OS X and the emulation OSs, for a mere $40 a pop. I'm just going to Boot Camp. I can wait a minute to reboot.
If Paystar just sold the hardware, and said "It can run OS X," but left it up to the end user to actually buy and install OS X, would that be OK? Paystar is not touching the actual software at all. And a company can get away with a whole lot of stuff by saying "It can..." My TV can run OS X if I mod it enough. So Paystar would push the EULA violation down to their customers (plus the expense of buying OS X). Or did I miss something in the ruling?
You should become an astronomer, a bee, a flower expert, a raptor, a hawk hunting by mouse piddle, or a crow. Oh, and of course the superhero that can find supervillains that only radiate in UV. I think there were a few somewhat plausible ideas in there, too, LOL.
I remember reading in some car magazine (can't remember) last year about new electric cars. One of the reviews was talking about a car that had 4 electric motors, 1 each directly driving 1 wheel. The part that impressed me was that the builders had to place hardwire limiters on the motors because at full torque they would literally rip the carbon body apart.
Anybody have an idea what car that old article was talking about? I was thinking maybe is was a previous version Tesla due to its acceleration, but I couldn't find any info about the drive train in TFA.
Of course I thought of this about 3 seconds after I hit submit. What happens when to road trains pass each other going in opposite directions? There has to be some type of nasty vortex between the 2 of them.
Until you come back as a zombie and reclaim your copyright. Hmm, I wonder if being undead and walking around is cause for an automatic renewal of the time frame for claiming copyright? Same thing if they reanimated Walt Disney's head a la Futurama.
Wouldn't that be a wonderful quandary of the law if the authorities posted the pics publicly? Now they are violating their own law(s), not to mention the moral outrage from, ah, everyone.
Oh, you can take as many pictures of yourself as your want. You just can't distribute them. No, it still makes no fucking sense. Teens can get together, get naked, have sex no problem. Send a pic- big problem. I can't even think of a word that describes this lunacy properly enough. (no, lunacy does not go far enough)
Since when did we start considering teens to be actual people with rights? I thought they were just mouths to feed and do manual labor around the house. [/sarcasm]

I'm reposting an AC's comment so it can be seen.
Virtual PC was available to Macs way back in 1997. Not that the parent mentioned that, but the summary is still crap.

Sigh.

Yep, wish pain and death on people, all because your job is a bit tougher. Good stuff. Wonder how many people think that of you...

But so, so awesome.
Do not let your common sense interfere with the workings of Slashdot. It would disrupt the Force and give Yoda indigestion.
And the waving is more likely to based in the direction of some interns...
I predict 100% stereotypical ranting from random people on the internet for both sides of the R vs. D debate.

Thanks for any info.

Any drop bears?
Are you sure you are not high, too?

Why let truth get in the way of good commercials? Besides, there are plenty of US brews way worse than Fosters. Milwaukee's Best, anyone?
Touche!
Very interesting stuff there. Didn't know that. Thanks.

But can she dance like a monkey on stage?
