in fact you do. if it truly were unacceptable you would not be accepting it and hence not paying for the product. or are you having difficulty understanding the term "unacceptable"?
There are multiple uses of the term "unacceptable." In fact, read what I quoted; the quoted text specifically uses the term "ok."
Fact is, just because you buy a product doesn't mean you like everything about it.
You do not send a message that DRM is okay. Just because you paid for something doesn't mean you're happy with every single aspect of it, and it's preposterous to suggest otherwise.
Although, I can't deny that people who pay for products with DRM lack intelligence.
Why do you assume that people who download the content for free do not have principles? Just because they don't have the same principles as you doesn't mean that they don't have any at all.
He acknowledges that government and law enforcement really do want to keep people safe above all else, even as certain legislatures and police departments run roughshod over citizens' privacy
That's a laugh; what they really want is power. If they truly wanted to keep people safe, they wouldn't try to extend their own power in ways that would allow them and others to abuse people with ease.
That's simply bad logic. Just because you believe that his opinion would change if he suffered from a tragedy such as that doesn't mean that his opinion actually would change, or that it invalidates his current point of view; it's just a non sequitur.
Second of all, are people who had such horrible experiences the only ones with valid opinions? In that case, we should let victims of crimes be judges, juries, and executioners; that's not how we work. In reality, people who experience such things tend to be extremely emotional and less likely to be rational when it comes to speaking about related issues.
If those weren't the points you intended to convey, then I have no inkling as to what purpose your comment was supposed to serve.
I don't live in a dreamland; I live in cold, hard reality. The reality is that people have more access to information than ever, and yet still there are many who squander this opportunity and continue to cling to the archaic notion that one cannot become educated without a formal education environment.
I'm not suggesting we discard colleges and universities, but my entire point was that people shouldn't pretend as if people cannot become educated without them.

Principles.. It's good to have them.

I did not state that I am not lazy, unmotivated, or unintelligent anywhere.
If this were a betting situation, the odds would have just shifted more towards the Dunning-Kruger effect.
This isn't a betting situation. It does not matter how likely you think that is; it has nothing to do with what I, as an individual, am actually like.

Either you're very hard-working, motivated and intelligent, or you're an example of the Dunning–Kruger effect.
I never mentioned myself, so it's rather odd how you acted as if I did.
I wonder which is more likely?
You don't know the answer.
But you'd be missing something.
Not wasting money leaves an empty hole in my heart.
Just because some people are lazy, unmotivated, and unintelligent doesn't mean that everyone is.
Ah, just remembered it is illegal in the UK not to remember a password when the Authorities want you to decrypt something
Looks like similar things happen in the US. A damn shame.

Shall we begin?
I agree 100%.
That's rather rude.
