Knowing ingredients in food isn't rocket science. When I was 14 I knew most of the ingredients in my food! I was smart enough to not drink Draino either. According to previous logic, the gov't should restrict Draino because some people could die from drinking it.
I work in tech support for a (real) windows company. We came out with a computer program for dealers to order windows from the distributors in January. I did not design the program or have any input about it whatsoever, but everyone who calls in acts as if I was responsible for coding the entire thing.
Give us tech support reps a break! I can diagnose and help fix almost anything wrong with a window that doesn't work properly, however that doesn't mean that I am a computer guru that can answer all question related to this software. (I've had calls from dealers who did not even have a cd-rom and asked if I could send them a copy on 3 1/4" disks!)
There are other kinds of movies! Ok, as a science fiction movie it sucks. However, as a drama it is pretty good. I haven't seen another recent drama that was even close to the quality of this movie.

I bet you are one of those people from Greenpest or similar organization who spout nonsense about anything that is modified by humans. By your reasoning, an ameboa is intelligent on some level and we would be slave owners if we made it, or any other animal work for us. You are also implying that humans are not any better than or worth more than an ameboa either.
I have a hint for you: The army is trying to promote peace!!! If we have the best weapons, no one will attack us. If they do, the war will be quick and they will be dead with minimal losses on our side. How is that wrong?
What if I am purchasing something from an individual in France via E-bay? I think a standard online currency would work best in that kind of situation.
I agree with you, for the most part. However, most banks have branches close together, so one could send a truck with a lot of cash to another branch if it is getting a lot of people withdrawing money. If this happens to all the branches though...
Bank panics were unrelated to the gold standard. They were due to ignorant people thinking believing Chicken Little when he said that the sky was falling. Anyways, that wouldn't happen today, with the invention of the cashier's check, electronic transfers, etc.
There is a great need for an online standard. After all, there will be eventually be a standard currency, probably something like U.S. dollars. A gold standard would prevent inflation in the U.S. from affecting the rest of the world as related to the internet.
Microsoft is trying to get into the online music business. Real Media is already involved with it. AOL wants in also. This means that they are all competing over it.
Random thought: If AOL comes out with an OS, will you only be able to connect to the internet via them?
That is why the parents need to be involved with thier kids internet access. They should be able to use whatever they want to block sites (NetNanny, etc.)

It wasn't a suprise at all. Why would TLC have the U.S. lose on its birthday?
You can die inside your house also.

But what he did with the Red Sea... Amazing

Good thing that it was only the router, I thought that this site got slashdotted.
Why not sign both senators up to a bunch of spam lists and let them see what it is like?
I created an e-mail account and did not go to any pr0n sites or anything. The next day, I had 11 adult sites spamming me. Of course I used hotmail...
Diamonds are the most common gem in the world! They are not rare at all. All they are is coal with a lot of pressure and temperature applied.

If the monetary system is a gold standard, then the machine would accept your money (provided the gold is coinage accepted by the machine).
Well, you still own the gold...

How is that not relevant??? House = Operating System
What you are forgetting, is that most people are not computer literate and really don't know/care about these issues.
That is all good, but what happens down the road when they want to change the standards?

I'm engaged to a girl that I met online... :)
