You are correct, but I believe the goal isn't specifically to stop another 9/11, but to stop future threats (removing our shoes after the Shoe Bomber, etc.).
By "future threats," I'm pretty sure you mean "past threats."
Maybe it's because there aren't actually any scary supervillains trying to blow planes out of the sky. Maybe it's all bullshit. Has anyone else considered this possibility?
FWIW, I really like opening with 1. a4. It's unorthodox, but I like to pull it out sometimes to disorient opponents. The basic object of the opening is to eventually bring about a5 and Ra4; if you can get that far, a rook sitting on a4 can be a real terror.
I'm not trying to argue your point though, because you are generally correct, especially in computer chess, 1. a4 is ridiculous.
I am looking at Device Notifier right now. It shows all of my local partitions (even the two that aren't in my fstab file), my mp3 player, the CD that's in the drive, and my nfs share.
Now I open Krusader and click the Media button (it looks like a hard disc). It includes everything mentioned above.
Now I open Dolphin. On the left, there is a Places sidebar. It includes all of the things mentioned above, plus Home, Network, Root, and Trash (and any other directories you drag in there if you want, but I don't really use Dolphin all that much).
I don't have to convince you that I am sentient. I have to convince you that I could take you in a fight. That's where "human rights" come from, and that's why "animal rights" are a silly misnomer.
Of course they are, as is cutting down a perfectly healthy tree and putting it in your living room in December like some sort of macabre trophy. Meet the hypocrisy and ignorance of the animal rights crowd.
I am close friends with several activist vegans, and this is an argument we have constantly on all kinds of different levels, from pets to dinner. And you are correct in your assumption that the vast majority of these people have very little knowledge of "the wild." Whenever the discussion rolls around to meat, the first question I ask is "Have you ever seen a cow?" Invariably the answer is no.
If that's the logic you're going with, we're gonna have to ban tree farms and greenhouses as well. Raised in captivity for the sole purpose of being either planted in your front garden like some sort of decoration, or worse yet, simply cut down in the prime of their lives and put on display! Think of the Christmas trees!
How the fuck is a two week old goldfish more alive than a hundred year old tree?
On the panel, where it has always been. It is called "Device Notifier." (There is also now an option to "dock" it in the system tray.) Also, in the the "Places" sidebar of every single fucking Open File or Save File dialog. Also, in the "Places" sidebar in Dolphin. Also, in a dropdown menu in Krusader. Also, fucking everywhere.
Only on Slashdot can you get a comment modded up to 5 without discussing (even in passing) either the problem or a solution.
Blah blah blah.

He must have distributed the binary to compete. He just didn't distribute it to you.
(Not the OP)
Yes, in theory. But Na3 and Nh3 are non-starters because they really block up your knights, as well as the pieces behind them.

lol :)
And once we've vanquished this "prejudice" against animals, and this "prejudice" against plants...we starve. Get outta here.

Got any more uninformed bullshit?
Heh. I lol'd.

Take it up with Mama Nature. She don't give no fuck for "animal rights."
Very. Kangaroo farms are common in places where kangaroos are common. Obviously not "domesticated" as in pets, but "domesticated" as in livestock.

"Lying."
(Not trying to be a spelling Nazi, just trying to help.)

Bullshit. If I died my dog would be sad. My cat would eat me.

Somebody mod this up.
Sure. Pull the other one.
Yep. And if a cougar ever got ahold of you in the woods, that's exactly what would fucking happen. Animals give us no such "rights."

Maybe testing FooBarPlugin against a new version of Firefox every other fucking week isn't what Joe Plugin Developer thought he was signing up for.

Yet another reason that users might think twice before depending on KDE for uploading photos.
Why would that be so? kipi-plugins worked as advertised.
