Once again the US Government asserts its commitment to Microsoft.
I think that it says a great deal about who our Government is in bed with when the md5 hash only gives this number (9ec4c12949a4f31474f299058ce2b22a) when the mission statement is encoded in the default Windows western character encoding and stored on a Windows machine.
You can't get this value hashing the mission statement and saving it on a Linux machine unless you spend some time jimmying the character encoding and carriage return style.
I use the Palm TX for my eBook reading. I currently have about 150 books on the card. I fire up the mp3 player to listen to music while I read and I take a break periodically to play games between chapters.
It does have word search, places to put bookmarks and annotations, a capability to use the dictionary to look up words, and a (somewhat buggy) version for the PC to read on the computer as well.
That is on top of the Palm's functionality for my work.
It is also just a little more expensive than the Kindle.
So I prefer a smaller multi function eReader to a large clunky single function device.
The only thing about the Palm Reader format that I really hate is that the eBook sellers use your credit card number as the key for the encrypted files. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
I get together with current and former IT co-workers once every other month and we play 8-20 hours of board games (SPI, AH, Placebo Press, Settlers). We gab, joke, rag on (Microsoft, Oracle, Sun, Linux, etc.), and talk shop. It is great fun. I even win a game occasionally. It just takes a little longer to recover now that I am in my 40s.

Both revolve loosely around the "Waterfall" model but the tips and techniques are great overviews of database system design independent of methodology or RDBMS.

If you put a fresnel lens and a keyboard on it, you could set up a "Brazil" style office.
