It does seem strange that nobody mentioned the donation page. The way everyone is talking here it's as if Seti@Home is gone already. I just made a donation, and if everyone else who runs it were to donate just 25.00 I'm sure Seti@Home would do just fine.
It is interesting to see how people use numbers like this, however I have yet to see anyone point out that with the Sony dialup option the average person will be paying 240.00 a year just to be able to play online games. Most of the popular dialup isps run at least 20.00 per month.
I work at a small hosting company and our UUNet connectivity (Central California via Anaheim hub) has been screwed since around 6am pacific time. Up and down all morning with latency between 500 and 2000 ms when it is up. Yay worldcom.
