For those of you finding the game too dark try these settings:
1)In game bring down the console (ctrl alt ~) 2)r_gamma 1.3 - The default is 1, try a range from 1.2-1.4, some have said to go as high as 1.8 but that is way too bright and takes away from the atmosphere imho. 3)r_brightness 1.5 - Again the default is 1, try a range up 1.8 to what looks best for you. 4) Turn off AA, turn on vsync on.
To boost performance try this!
In your DOOM 3 directory, find "DoomConfig.cfg" (x:\Program Files\Doom 3\base). Open DoomConfig.cfg in Notepad. Find the line: seta image_cacheMegs "XX" Where XX is try increasing this value in according to how much ram you have. I have 1 GB of ram, and set it to 256, HUGE boost in framerate, game runs a lot smoother now. Try these values: 32, 96, 128, 256.

/. aren't you better than this? Is it a slow news day? Seriously, if MS really even card about this patent they would of said something or done something already. Or perphaps a certain division of MS existed during that time and they were the ones who filed this patent. You guys are just looking to pick a fight with them? Why? Because you were forced to remove a post that was copyright infringment so you decieded to take your anger out by trying to pick a fight??

I have no use for a device with content control. In a market with competition a variant of such a device without the content control will soon emerge or the invention will simply vaporize (like most storage related inventions seem to do). I read slashdot regularly and anouncements of the next generation storage devices (holographic storage, new and improved optical storage, better harddrive) are about as frequent as discussion on Gnu licenses issues. So, my guess is that this will failed(provided it ever evolves into a product which I doubt). BTW. 500 Mb isn't even close to the actual size of my mp3 collection, I need something larger.
