Think "Sony Walkman that trades music with whatever other devices are around."
Now that's just stealing. I'm all for fair use with music that I buy, but this is absurd.
The device need not connect to the internet (perhaps it can't) -- it talks to whatever other devices are around. "I like Jimmy Buffett, anyone got any Jimmy Buffett? I'll trade it for some Wayne Newton." A short-range hardware Gnutella. Set some parameters, go for a walk in a public park, come home with some new music. Pass it along.
Still stealing! You can't transfer ownership of the music you've bought without tranferring the CD itself.
Why are so many people obsessed with stealing music?
Usually only the people who have had problems tend to report their experiences. I've ordered from them many times and have never had a problem. I didn't even know that site existed until now.
What are you, on crack? What does Linux have to do with this? The hardware is the expensive piece of the equation. The OS is basically thrown in for free since Apple is selling them at such a huge loss.
> I wouldn't ever have to see any ugly primitive X applications either.
What!!! Some of the best games are written using just Xlib. Xevil is the best example. And what about all the 1337 programs that just use a raw socket to connect to the X-server? Do we just push them aside?
NASA is only $4 billion over budget? The Big Dig in Boston, MA is over $10 billion over budget right now and growing. At least NASA has accomplished something.
This was modded insightful? There are waaay too many <16 year-olds here.
