Did you look at the screenshots? They're either digitally constructed shots of their player with iPod screen captures overlaid or they've copied the iPod interface right down to the blase colors!
What makes this application specific to the SE phone? Is it using a profile that, say, a Palm Tungsten T wouldn't have? Shouldn't be too hard to throw something together on the TT written in Java to do the same thing...
an unintentional spin requires a "double screwup" on the part of the pilot -- a stall, followed by hard rudder (and maybe opposite aileron.)
Huh? I don't think all the pilots who have spun their craft into the ground while getting "low and slow", esp. in the pattern, have intentionally kicked in hard rudder and/or opposite aileron. Aren't the vast majority of stall/spin accidents in the pattern? And aren't they usually in the transition from base to final?
I'm sorry, but I've gotta say "bullsh%t" to php.net being "the best online documentation for any language...". There's no versioning AT ALL, so you don't know if you're looking at the docs for PHP 3 or PHP 4.3 (which is mentioned a lot on php.net, but I've seen no mention of its release).
Amazon's assertion that they're under attack from "ruthless competitors" is completely valid. That means they've got a good thing that others want to capitalize on. The only way they can stay ahead of that crushing wave of johnnie-come-latelys is to continue to innovate. As Tim said, it is when companies turn to lawsuits, corporate maneuvering and anti-competitive practices that indicates they've given up and can no longer stay in front by virtue of ingenuity. They have decided to stagnate and needless to say, this is destructive for the entire industry. If Amazon provides services above and beyond those of their competitors and stands up to their reputation for service, customers will continue to come.
Check out Inflex (its in Freshmeat somewhere...) and Sophos AntiVirus. I'm using them with Sendmail and I've caught a couple of virii in the last week.

Heh. I guess UnitedLinux isn't so united after all, eh?
When I talked to the kids that had done the mods, most of them didn't know what linux was, and couldn't do much with their box...
Egads! I didn't realize there was a geek equivalent to a squid on a motorcycle...

Well said, man.
You won't experience the /.-effect unless you have something cool on your site.
