Am I the only one who recalls how bad the systems where that got to be "customized" by the OEMs? Sony and IBM both had customized Bob like interfaces that made the systems imposible to support over the phone.
cell : Warning, cell phone using driver in blue BMW swerving in and out of trafic on HY 19.
User on HY 19 : Hey, that jerk the phone's talking about is in the same type of car I'm in.
Everyone I've known that uses pot have been disiclined to do ANYTHING. One has to get up off the couch inorder to get into a car accident.
Like I said, harmless.
"be careful you're dealing with a strain that produces little-to-no THC" so thats what I did wrong.
All in all I agree with you. Hell, in my opinion the THC producing strains are better then vodka as far as detrimental effects go. Its nothing I use myself (I also dont drink, smoke or eat pork rinds) but it seems to be rather harmless on the grand scale of things.
Sure it seems like a good idea now but just wait untill the supper intelligent fruit get their own presidential candidate in the white house. Then their hidden agenda of world domination will be pushed into the foreground and the great Salad Shooter wars will begin. If we don't stop them now it will soon be too late.
Just having the fiber drop is not going to make broad band any cheaper. You still need to pay for the service and the hardware. Last I checked, a lightspan board was kinda pricy.
It seems more and more hardware is being devloped to satsify the needs of Pron, Warez and Mp3 mongers. I'm reminded of a Simpsons sequence....
Homer... So, what have you been doing with your self.
Nerd... I've been working on a new system that lets you download pron twenty times faster.
Marge... Do you realy need that much pron.
Homer... mmmmmmmmm. Porn.
So the only question is, where can I get one. You know, for um, database storage & stuff.
I'll withhold judgment on the viability of the Gnome desktop over KDE on my Sparc 10 untill I see how well or poorly it runs with 8bpp. However this is a very nice chunk o' software to see. I've tried to get Gnome for Solaris a few times but got fed up after trying to hundred the 20th of a hundred plus packages. Getting the entire thing in one TGZ file is a major bonus. The only way this could be a bad thing is if it fails to integrate with the Solaris login screen (where the user can pick the desktop and WM they want).
Hate to burst your buble but "3D" displays have existed for a long time. Steroscopic shutter glasses for example go back to the XT. I was playing Castle Wolfenstine "3D" in true stereo about a decade ago.
Having a key posted to the net is only a problem is the key is general and not location specific. How hard would it be for a company to sell a key to a corporation that only works on a given TCP/IP range or domain name? For the single user it could be bound to one of a number of hardware specific identifiers. This is the only way the Anti-piracy system would work. However even that is flawed. There are a lot of shareware registration systems that work in a similar way. However most of them have been circumvented by someone reveres engineering the key generator. This is frequently no small feet but once done is a source of unlimited keys. Bottom line is that there is no way to stop piracy, you can only make it harder. This in turn makes the lives of honest users more difficult as we too have to deal with the effects of anti-piracy features. A good example of this is products such as 3D-Studio. I own a legit copy but use a crack so I don't have to mess around with the hardware lock (it uses a parallel port dongel). In my own shareware (shameless plug) Net Weasel (Search on cnet or zdnet. Download it, I need the hits) I use a non-hardware specific encryption system that could be easy negated if someone where to build a key generator.
I think someone should create a web site listing the names and addresses of all the anti-abortion wakos and then have animations from http://www.jesusdance.com next to the names of those that have been killed.
What if they then post on IRC the exact steps needed for someone else to break back in?
"What is this talk of 'release'? I do not make software 'releases'. My software escapes, leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake!"
I may be alone in this. But I use my Palm Pilot and Apple Newton (thats right, you heard me) as VT100 terms. When I'm weazeled back in the server room I cant lug a Wyse term with me. Being able to plug into a serial port and get to the command line of one of the BAS (Big Ass Sun) systems is an invaluable tool. If they can add an X server to a plam sized device I'll be very happy. But in truth I've not seen a palm sized device with high enough resolution to make it worth while. Still, one can hope.
Blizzard has a trade mark for a movie title "diablo". New Line starts to make a movie with the same title. Seems rather streight forward to me. Granted New Line is contesting the trademark, which is within there rights. However blizzard is also within there rights to request an injuction prior to the results of New Lines contestment (is that a word?). The only precedent this would set is that trade marks mean somthing.
Is it not nifty?
Worship the comic.
Sluggy Frelance os by far one of the best online comics out there. It and Mega Tokyo are great sources of entertainment.
I don't like my CRTs flat. I prefer them to have soft curves and buoyancy... wait, what where we talking about again?

No. But I can see the colors that taste like music and feel like the sent of roses. Is that good enough?

Sure, they'd like you to think that. Lets not forget about Odwala and E.coli.....
Now now, those was vegetables. Granted one could have been fruit in disguise what with the governments history of "catsup is a vegetable".
I've tried making Hemp bread. The results are not worth getting into. Sufice it to say that Hemp makes a poor food source.

I've played lots of violent games. And it hasn't made me into a psycho. And I'll fucken kill anyone who says it has.

Above is a link to the benchmarks posted on Intels web page.
My bad for sending it from a PDA.

So I take it that any use of the word "Belgium" is right out?
