    The problem is that if you don't allow existing companies to hire employees in lower cost areas then they will eventually go out of business when their new competitors open shop in the lower cost area and offers a cheaper product.

    "Lower cost areas" which is double-speak for "right-to-work states", where unions are much less powerful....

    Most streamers use a separate streaming PC that captures the video output from the gaming PC as well as receiving audio and displaying the overlays onscreen. Probably the case here.

    After looking at the video, it appeared to me that the streamer ALREADY had Windows 10. This was just an update (note the screen said "Installing updates FOR Windows 10).

    In my experience, the update doesn't kick off automatically unless you have hit the "snooze" button (told Windows to wait) a few times over several days. Windows then just says "Fuck it" and installs anyway. Usually right when you are in the middle of something.

    I'm not defending the practice. It sucks in my book, but that has been my experience.

    Viewers can subscribe to streamers for $5 a month. Part of which goes to the streamer. Subscribing gets you custom emotes and higher priviledges and perks on the site and elsewhere.

    Most of these streamers also post content on Youtube. If the subscribed numbers get high enough, they can make a pretty penny from Youtube videos.

    What I don't get is how a human issues 500 commands in a minute? That's more than 8 per second? What kind of commands are we talking about here? It's been a while since I last played Starcraft, I remember most stuff was mouse based except for some shortcut keys, how do you move the mouse so fast? Any good videos to see these guys in action?

    Watch them play on Twitch.tv. The players go pretty fast and can't even follow what they are doing.

    I just heard some sad news on talk radio - horror/fiction writer Stephen King was found dead in his Maine home this morning. There weren't any more details yet. I'm sure we'll all miss him, even if you weren't a fan of his work there's no denying his contribution to popular culture. Truly an American icon.

    Where did you get this info? Nothing mentioned anywhere else. The wrestler Chyna and Prince are the only folks I am aware of that passed away today.

    Referring back to the spelling and assholes article last week, here is what pisses me off about people that should KNOW how to spell when producing content.

    This is the caption from the video linked via the Slashdot description...

    The only exception to what I posted earlier is when someone posts run-on sentences with no punctuation and no capital letters it is super annoying when someone doesn't punctuate and they just ramble on and on the other day i saw a post here on slashdot that did the exact thing i absolutely hate that it just really pisses me off i would like to come face to face with someone like that and just beat them to a pulp see how annoying this style of writing is??

    I usually don't have an issue with spelling when folks are posting on blogs or FB. What gets my goat is when journalists and other 'professional' writers misspell stuff.

    Most word processors and even the Comment editing box here on /. highlights misspelled words with a red squiggly underline so there should be no excuse for people that write for a living to misspell anything.

    My .02 cents.

    They could, as a start, keep the medical (patient records, diagnostic, monitoring, etc.) networks segregated from each other, and especially from the Internet. But that would prevent staff from checking the Bookface, so it wouldn't go over well.

    You enforce blocking of "Bookface" since it is non-work related. You try to access site and you get

    Has worked for us in the past ;) IMO, a visit by Seal Team 6 with a road trip to Gitmo included would be nice.

    I abolutely agree with the above... We don't need our freedom to be restricted because of occasional terrorist attacks. If we allow that then they win, we lose. And as stated above, a lot more people die on the road each day, and nobody cares..

    Horse Shit......if this happened to you or a loved one of yours, you would lawyer up in a heartbeat and sue anyone and everyone associated with that airport or subway. Your lawyer would be bitching "They should have been more thorough, they should have done this, they should have done that....bla bla bla"..
