They come from organized fundamentalists, which are functioning as any american corporation

Which is exactly why we are targeting these groups and their leaders. By taking them out we will see a reduction in the amount of organized terrorist strikes on the Sept. 11 level. This, while not solving the terrorist problem entirely, will make the world a much safer place to live.

Rumsfeld's response to a similar question this morning was something like: "We're not running out of targets, Afghanistan is running out of targets".

I agree. The Taliban has had weeks to avoid a military confrontation, and our government has been more than willing to resolve this situation in a peaceful matter.

What I don't understand about the groups condemning any military response is that they fail to realize that the military is fighting for their freedom. I saw an interview on Fox news about some group that believed that WW II could have been won by non-violent protests and the like. I'm sure that the axis powers would allow anti-war marches in Berlin.

Our country is at war now, even if it is undeclared one. Americans should support their country during these times, even though they might not want to be at war. Having your own thoughts and the right to express them is one of many things that makes this country great, but there comes a time and place where you need to support your country (and military) first. So far these groups have not done anything wrong yet...I would hate to see things degrade to their status durring the Vietnam war days.

Yeah, it must really suck to lose to an unranked team. Maybe you should have waited to see what your "Real" team is capable of.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but thanks for your spot in the AP poll.

Thank god I switched over to Linux last month. How long until M$ starts billing by the time you use the OS? Would not suprise me too much if they had allready started to look into that.

  6. we call it "Get Connected!" on Dorm Storm? · · Score: 1

....here at Virginia Tech. About 15 teams of 5 (mostly students) are assigned a number of floors in a dorm and we spend the better part of four days installing network cards and fixing general problems before classes begin. VT tries to keep track of EVERY student's computer connection status via status cards filled out and entered into a database. Students who could not be helped before classes start due to a broken computer are helped as soon as possible and everyone is usually connected before the first week of classes end.

GetConnected team members are even given the go ahead to install NICs for those parents who just got their card from Wal Mart. Nothing causes more tension for parents than Jimmy's new pc being opened up for surgery.

I have done this for two years and have seen just about everything that can go wrong during move in. To those of you doing similar jobs this fall, be on the lookout for these highlights:

The flaming (and sparking) power supply of doom!

The notebook network card that no one can identify!

Parents that can't understand the difference between an Ethernet cable and a telephone cable ("why won't it work again? It fits in the right slot...")

Good luck to all those brave souls who will be doing Dorm Storm this year, and yes you will be only remembered as "that guy who fixed my computer" and nothing more.
