This way it makes companies realize that spam will produce hate toward their products. But... the problem is that, many spams were of pr0ns -- which has no better place to advertise anyway.
Again: Clueless moderators. RTFA. The article thinks that noise is the factor on why HD is not being embraced. I think not. And my parent post states why. And you said overrated huh?
IMHO, people is currently not savvy enough to embrace digital videos yet. It will need some time. When the market is mature (and good enough), people will definitely jump into digital video bandwagon. Only then big HDs will have it big share AND all the evils imposed by MPAA will be contended.
Experts who discover and report security holes seem to be far more industrious than the malicious hackers willing or able to exploit those holes.
The problem is that the article fails to mention that if the holes are not fixed, sooner or later the so called malicious hacker will find it and exploit it *quietly*. This is dangerous thing.
IMHO, better to expose it and then *quickly* fix it rather than do nothing.
The problem is now that Microsoft knows (or being told) about the holes but often takes a very long time to fix it and sometimes ditch the bugs as "unimportant". This is even worse as this *will* give a plenty opportunity for the hackers to implement the exploit.
"This is what you get for looking at your calculator so much!"... then he wrote "I need to see a few more steps and where you got some of these answers".
The problem is that most professors want to see your *work*. If you just gave a few steps and -voila- an answer, they usually don't appreciate it. This holds not only Math prof, but also virtually *all* prof. If you show your work and eventhough your answer is wrong, usually you get lots of partial credit (like 70-80% or so), but that depends on the prof's personality (and of course, the TA's).
I myself usually use calculators only to check answers. That way, I can be 100% certain that my answer is correct.
Why didn't you continue? It's supposed to be "Imagine a Beowulf cluster of the rin^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H Oh wait! You're right! That would be a calamity... Whew!
This list is simply hillarious. For the worst of the worst games (i.e. Custer's Revenge) I was thinking that the screenshot shows a cowboy shooting to the left an Indian to the right. But... the explanation is about pr0n. LOL....
I would say it's unlikely that anybody remembers anything from around age 3
Counterexample: I still remember my bad experience at the age of 1. I saw my dad using his razor and tried it myself. It hurt very much that I cried so hard. My (late) grandma noticed that and told my dad off. I still have a very thin scar (hardly noticeable) on one of my cheek.
Well, I have a slight problem with IBM JVM in my Gentoo box. The response was slower IMHO and it trashes when compiling some classes of my project. With Sun's JVM everything's fine, though. Of course, the workaround would be to compile the problematic classes separately, but that sort of pain.
When I looked at the patch they disable the default garbage collection. I guess that this will cause memory blow ups when loading huge projects. I suppose that the original binary with Sun's Java is the best bet for production machines. Heck, I'm perfectly happy with Eclipse's current Linux GTK+ binary.
We definitely need a whole lot more books like this to encourage office users to adopt Linux. We don't need those complicated details. But I expect Star Office or other office-related things be explained in greater depth. At least on par with those MSOffice ones.
That's the magic," Sklar said. "When people see, hear and touch this character, it will be a real groundbreaking experience."
The character doesn't talk, but can respond with movements. Some of its potential antics are eating popcorn, "stealing" a guest's hat and sneezing. [...]
Disney chose a dinosaur because children are so fascinated with them, Sklar said, plus "it's a large enough character to get their attention."
Some visitors will scream "THIEF!!" Others will scream "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! IT'S GODZILLA!"
It is indeed a groundbreaking experience. Go Disney go! Scatter thine visitors...:-)
That's right. Mockers are just mockers. There's no way to convince incorrigibly pessimist freaks. If they don't believe NASA, it's their problem, not NASA's. Even if NASA would make another last ditch attempt to send some people to the moon, these crackpots would still cry "Liar! Liar!"
Mod parent up.

No, it's called Minx. Hehehe... Sorry, couldn't resist...

You know, after looking at his face, I lost my animo to type comments... Oh wait...
Well, after playing this game and meet your friend saying "36? In a row?"...
ROFL... Oh God... The developers of this game must have been in the confession chamber now after seeing their game being publicized in Slashdot....
a Beowulf cluster....oh

Go straight to this game's explanation.
Fortunately, they won't backport that to WinME. Otherwise it would be called "bashme".

I agree. This is sort of "purist" view.

No. The response will be "Most Definitely."
Because lawyers and doctors can spell.
people will make mistakes
Even machines, computers, etc since they are too made by humans. Lots of examples out there (Ariane rocket, anyone?)
It's not that we have to eliminate human error completely, in an excruciating manner. It just happens. We just have to deal with it accordingly.
Apple must feel proud... That Microsoft people keep trying to emulate their OS and interface.
Xerox must feel proud... That Apple people keep trying to emulate their OS and interface.
Microsoft are doing may not actually be illegal (or could be argued not to be, anyway)
How can this be legal? This kind of action is basically violating the settlement. Can someone explain, please?

hosted only on one dsl
You know what? It's easy to take a revenge. Just post where it is to Slashdot and we'll handle the rest...
So you assume that all that big space are for DVD rips and MP3s? How about storing gene info? Backups? Anyone?
The trend unit is "how many equivalents of library of congress" does it hold?

Bear in mind that the "government-mandated Microsoft apps" are not just Word/Office.
