oh and GaTech's network is horrid...
it's all 10Base Hubs linked to a 10Base switch via 10BaseFX... got collisions?
and i'm not sure but i think they only have one DS3....
those are multiple 1.54Mbps ATM links (which are all maxed)
and one 6.75Mbps ATM (which isn't used much, judging from the mrtg page http://noc.oshean.org/jwtraffic.htm)

"RLX Shrinks Dense Server" --- Headline
they aren't trying to make it denser they are trying to sell more servers...
"Blade pioneer RLX Technologies, saying that its initial product was too big for most people, has cut its 3U 24-blade dense server down to 1U that houses only six blades.
It figures the new second-generation product, called simply the RLX System 1U and a more popular form factor than the 3U, will move in greater volumes than its predecessor and sales of course are exactly what the struggling start-up that has gone through two layoffs in the last few months needs right now."
counterstrike is hardly realistic and the environment isn't really interactive...
Rogue Spear w/ Urban Operations is about the most realistic game i have played...
Ghost recon should be out in stores in a couple weeks, it looks pretty incredible!

I really don't understand all the commotion...
a friend of mine once showed me how he was running Mac OS on top of Windows 2000 with VMWare (eww windows, haha don't worry it's for linux too)
Mac OS isn't 'supported' by vmware.. but i've seen it work...
So why would this not work with the ipod?
www.vmware.com
or you could just get some clear-channel DS3's from a Tier-1 provider...
who say's everyone pays by the GB ?
it seems your the one who didn't read the story... you just read the headline on /.
"We will share a unified grid with more than half a petabyte of disk storage, a 40-gigabit-per-second national optical backbone"
You don't measure bandwidth in GBps you measure it in Gbps...
I thought they were still testing OC-768 ?

so true... and next year we are getting the 9290
but AT&T doesn't have the quality my voicestream has... sounds like a land line....
just wait till someone develops a peer-2-peer network for these things :)
anonymous ftp: 63.160.123.201 -i must be a fool...
*wink* *wink*
510KBytes/sec... gratzi!
and the streaming version is coming from Akamai...
i'd think it would be C-band, but by then maybe enough KA- band will be available
