So what if you have to have a 3d card. Wah. You are missing the beauty of this. Maybe you should take a look at Ridah's.plan, and perhaps you won't be so ho-hum about it. I don't like Kingpin personally-- too violent. But the game just barely game out for Windows, and Ridah has already got a version of a port out- and he was key in getting the server version working. And if you read his.plan file you will see that he has recently fallen in love with the Linux OS. This can only mean great things for Linux and games. He has had an amazing career in the gaming world-- with terrific contributions, and I am looking forward to his next creation- which no doubt will benefit the Linux community! So stop bemoaning the fact that you don't have a 3d card.
Hahahahaha! That has got to be the funniest post I have read in a long time. It's funny, because I agree 100percent! And I don't understand previous arguments about how it is hard to break stuff with rpm's and whatnot. I and many others have completely broken gtk+ and glib, by using rpm's. On my slackware box everything works, and there are never false hopes of stuff running just because the rpm looked like it installed ok. Either I get an error compiling and dont do the make install, or it compiles great, and it gets installed. Viva la Slackware!
Wo! Do not get the Cheapbytes Starbuck 5.9 cd!! I got it, formatted my poor Slackware 4.0 beta drive, installed Starbuck, and well it was a mess, and I promptly went back to Slack. Let me just stay that evertime I clicked on anything (gnome) as root, the xserver would die-- and it would show an error stating that I (root) 'did not have access permisions'. It is so totally unstable beta, I would not recommend the Cheapbytes Starbuck cd for anyone! I assume they will have fixed it up on the mirrors, but the way it is on that cd...
You have forgotten, or may not know, that Illiad is from British Columbia, CANADA. And he mentioned in his news that he has 'the best lawyers on the ISLAND'. So it probably would not be in a list of US lawyers.
don't speak swedish, but all that points to december 28-- not october. Silly slashdot!
