    That may be true...but there is blead over, we had 2 2.4GHz phones at work(different lines) and they interfered with each other, even though both were supposed to frequency hop. dunno..just an observation..(I think on was a motorola and one was a panasonic, with the 2 antennas)

    it does both, it generates it the first time to get a base line, and to get yhe key from MS. Then at boot time it is generated again, and compared to the onle from the install, if it differs by more than X than, whamo. no more OS....not to say it deletes it sellf, you just have to call MS to get a fix for it.

    VBE sucks, for many reasons. 1) its still Lossy, its changing lossy, so it isnt glaringly bad(in theory) 2) their are no good VBE encoders (IE Lame or Farenhoffer (SP?) or equivalent). 3) VB is good from 128 to 256. 256 still sucks. 320 is tollerable on most music, but not classical or jazz, or (...wait....mp3s only sound good on nsync and Backstreet boys......funny that....)

    R&d cost money, and lots of, preproduction runs, artist to design a good looking machine, UnderwriterLabs, manauals, the hardware doesnt cost much, but once you add all the development costs, packaing(you would be surprised how much this cost see CD's packagin in the 8o's)

    I never thought I would see a development of a new feature shot down because it was good. this is stupid. Nvidia is innovating new features and products that people like john carmack want. They have the fastest Xfree setup now, even if it is closed source. People are so paranoid m but most orget that most of the profit is made in oem, and a 600 dollar card wont make oems happy.

    This is like car and driver saying "Chevy has made a new car, that is only 2 grand, gets 110 mpg, and goes from 0-60 in 4.7 second! Its the greats car we ever seen, full of new features.....but we shouldnt buy them! because that will put ford out of buisness"

    rip your cd's into midi format? is that like viwing a word document as a jpeg, or using your screen to type. it aint possible. midi is used to trigger events, mp3 is an encoded audio format. not even the same

    just wanted to warn you, they can still get you for theft of services, Its happened to me before. I cancled my account with an ISP, they didnt remove my shell account. so I just continued to use it...about 10 months later they did an audit and my account poped up so they charged me 30$ *10 months. so I fought it. the best I could do was get it down to 150$ I wasnt using the dialup, and to play, or they would send some friendly blue officers to arrest me. sucks eh?

    the code is not obfuscated anymore, get over it, Nvidia fucked up when they changed the code right before 3.3.4 was released. the got roasted on it, so they fixed the problem in 3.3.5. the fact is that its just not that fast compared to their inhouse developed drivers.

    thats bs...what do you think PARC was about, and big think tanks for every major company(Intel, Motorala, AMD). Its all about "think up good stuff so we can make a profit" Motroala emplys 1000 people just to fuck with the technology, so that they can be on the cutting edge(and not get left behind, like they did with PCS to nokia). And none will convince me that when one of the brains comes up with THE killer app, that Motorala wont take all of the pie. Thats the shity part about working for someone.
