I come to Slashdot for interesting debates. I also come here to gain insights and understanding about things I have little or spotty knowledge about but want to know more.
While Slashdot is not perfect it's one of the best communities I've found on the web that covers a wide variety of topics that I'm interested in.
I will agree with the original premise of the "Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory" from Penny Arcade as I have seen it first hand in games. While it does occur on other websites, and for some "unsocialized" people here, the Slashdot community as a whole does a good job of minimizing these people that cause this kind of behavior.
I recommend a Mitel system. I work in the industry as a SIP expert and Systems Admin for our company and we do lots of big installs. The best one is probably going to be a Mitel 3300 which uses IP phones and has a ton of options depending on your needs. Now this is a PBX system that uses ethernet instead of traditional phone lines inside a building. There are also other options where we use SIP going out of the office rather than connecting traditional phone lines in. If you want to go with 100% SIP option we sell our own brand called http://www.verge1.com/ which can scale pretty much indefinitely and we can connect remote offices as if they were all in the same office. There is way too much to describe in a simple post. Our main website is http://www.buffcomm.com/. If you have specific questions or want me to get you in contact with a sales person send me an email at jon@ the website.
Most people don't care if the colors look off (unless its major of course). For the people who do care, most just ask if I have any solutions that they haven't tried. Usually we do, but 99.99% of people either don't care or figure it out for themselves.
I wonder whether we would get much energy by beaming it down to the planet.
First off, we are only getting say 30-40% of the sunlight using our best solar panels (available in the near future).
Secondly, we are probably not going to get a lot of efficiency by beaming the power down to Earth. I would guess we only get like 10-20%.
So unless we can drastically increase these numbers, I'm not sure we'll be able to get much benefit from simply beaming the power down from space.
I'm going to have to disagree with you here.

I definitely like Jason's the best too. I stays close to the current design but looks and functions a lot better.
I tested it out and I think it's pretty sweet! I can get MP3's through a legitimate search engine. I recommend using Google to translate Yahoo's MP3 website. Here is a quick link to the Google translated webpage: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F %2Fmp3.yahoo.com.cn%2F&langpair=zh-CN%7Cen&hl=en&s afe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

Three weeks ago AT&T here in Denver found a way to cut us off.
They didn't do anything to the cable box. Instead they put "something" on up on the poll. When they were done our free ride was over.
Just a forewarning for all those people who think the freeride will last forever.
I have one word that describes MicroCrap.
"Fuckers!"
This would explain why I've been getting 100+ Junk Mail emails recently!
I have done tech support for HP.
