you guys a missing another aspect, and those saying IDe is cheaper are quite incorrect in the long run...
SCSI drives from Seagate and IBM both have 5 year warranties... and most IDE drives have 1.. the SCSI drive will happily last 5 years without ever being turned off.. i'd like to see a IDE drive last like that...
i put all SCSI disks in my workstation simple because i know they're built better, will last longer and give me better performance without mucking around.
IDE drives are cheap and nasty and i could never trust data i wanted to them. Most ide drives these days seem to have trouble lasting 2 years. and the DOA rate of them is climbing every day.
Now my favorite movie is Lock Stock, absolutely love it, great dark humor and the story flows and sticks togeather.. Characters have depth and a sence of history. Most of all the violence is there as part of the story.. I really think Guy put out snatch to sell more movie tickets and that it rides on the back of Lock Stock. I think he would have had more success sticking with his original cast, there was no need to bring in the likes of Brad Pitt other then to sell more tickets. I think that all the points that make Lock Stock my favorite movie are missing from Snatch, really quite an unmemorable film. The fact that Guy used the same "Big Chris" character in Snatch was just plain lazy and bad film making, i mean the car door scene is straight out of lock stock except this time its sole purpose was to be violent and to tell us that hey this guy and "Big Chris"... as far as performances go his was the best, but then again he got it down pat in Lock Stock. It'll be interesting to see how Guy Richie takes "Mole" his next crim film staring Modonna, which kinda scares me. I dunno why he insists on dumping very good actors like Dexter Fletcher for his bimbo wife and Brad Pitt. I have to agree with alot of the Poms Snatch was made to sell in America, which is partly why it's a flop, Lock Stock had no hype, and was made to be nothing but a great film, there were no market pressures un Guy as he was basically unknown. I do believe that any attempt to make another Lock Stock will meet with failure like it did with Snatch.
btw it's 12:03AM here in Queensland.. and all's quite.. well almost MS Proxy Server seems to have died on our NT box.. squid still kicking but it's set to GMT..
I can have it arranged if you really like? I have multiple copies for some unknown reason:-) oh and the copyright is kewl if i remember correctly it's almost GPL..
personally I think telstra should go back to being a public asset. At least then Telstra didn't boast of 3.x Billion dollar profits one week, and then the next sack 2000 workers. (making customer service a thing for the history books).
I also believe that what Telstra thinks are it's assets, infact belong to every Australian since our taxes paid for it all in the first place.
As far as I can tell (and other Australians might be able to prove me wrong here) when Telstra was Telecom it wasn't a company (no ACN number?), in fact it's my opion it was an agency and didn't act as an individual.
Government agencys as far as I know don't own the assets their allocated, those infact belong to us the public. Therefore i don't see how telstra can claim to own that which is owned by the Australian Tax Payers, and as far as I'm concerned Telstra should be bought back and a system introduced so that telstra only breaks even, Public owned utilites/assests aren't meant to make huge profits their there to provide a service which is needed.

comments??
Matt
personally I don't give a rats about microsoft, the DOJ or Windows..
however.. I hope they don't try to make ms auction off the *windows* tm.. I mean how'd we all feel if they tried pulling that crap on us?
windows is the legal and rightful property of microsoft no matter how we feel about them.
