It was more like the local ghetto of BBS's. It was a Laser Turbo (turbo ment it was 10Mhz and not 4.77, ph33r!) XT. It had dual ST-225 MFM HD's (20Megs each) and a good old Hays External 2400BPS smartmodem. It ran on JetBBS and if there was a shareware/free door game out their i had it on the system. I would go away for one weekend only to come back and find the HD's full with warez or something like that.
The game in my calling area wasnt LORD, it was the multiBBS games called Planets (I think thats what it was called) and Falcon's Eye. At 12:00am or so they would all dial some server and download all the moves. So you ended up having BBS vs BBS. There was always a rush to see who could get connected 1st at 12:10am so you could get the 1st moves.
If you want your post to get moderated up just put in the topic: "Microsoft=Evil" or "Linux r00lz" or "Linus is God, ph33r!". Its not that hard to figger out.:)
My cableco (optonline) has no caps on bandwith (up or down) and they also dont seem to give a shit what ports i listen on. I see 300+K/sec downloads. I once sent a ISO image to my friend that is on the same subnet as me and it went at over 600K/sec. The router (3Com/USR) could do the full 10Mbits...but ive never seen that. Plus i have a fixed IP. For $39.99 a month im happy with it

Redhat 5.2 is old. It didnt even come stock with kernel 2.2.6. If you just drop a new kernel into an old distro you run into alot of problems. You have to upgrade the rest of the software/drivers to support it. If you drop a 2.2 kernel into a 2,0 system it will boot and run. Just not right...and there will be error messages all over the place.

When ever you get an Email do this: 1) DELETE THE EMAIL right away. Dont even preview it. Yes just reading an Email can fsck up you system. or 2) TURN OFF YOUR PC and wait untill MS puts out a fix in service pack 345.5 (You will be able to download this 1.4G patch from microsoft.com or buy the low priced CD for only $99.99(US).
dont just run this. Get the source and LOOK IT OVER FIRST! Not to say that the AC is a bad guy or anything...you just can never be sure. I looked at some other sites and some are tar.gz and others are.ZIP's. And the all are diffrent file sizes. And it goes with out saying that running unknown stuff as root is a bad idea.
What are they gona get out of my./ user records? My Email address? oh no... BTW the last legit copy of an MS OS I paid for was MS-DOS 3.3. I had better run and hide! Bill is gona get me:)
Its 5 times as big as NT 4 so it MUST be 5 times as good! And i hear it only crashes/hangs/BSOD's once every 6 hours. You shouldnt be using your PC for more then an hour or so any ways. IF you do then you must be addicted.

Most people still use 800x600. Hell, alot of laptops still come with LCD screens that can only do 800x600.

If they used the newest NT then why not the newest RH? And why use RH at all? Its slow next to Slackware and a few other lesser known Distro's
